Recognize that if you buy into a QBH neighborhood you are likely to be over promised what the neighborhood will include and how low your HOA fees will be. The build quality of our QBH home is average. There are popped nails in most rooms, the vinyl flooring is curling at the seams all over the kitchen, the porch is falling apart. The HVAC zones are terrible functionally. The main level is on the same zone as the basement rather than the second level. This creates a problem because there is a valted entryway between the main level and second level so it you want the main level warm, with all the heat rising to the second floor, the basement ends up much warmer. I like the 10 ft ceiling on the main floor and second level. I wish the square footage was used better to add one more bedroom. The layout is generally lots of very large rooms, which is nice if that's what you are looking for, but it's difficult to subdivide that space.

I am worried about the new proposed project for a neighborhood called Meadows at Town Run in Leonardtown MD. The 107 lot division is planned to be built right about a stream called Town Run and next to an existing pond. I am worried that the runoff from all these new homes in the new proposed neighborhood will runoff into this stream and pond that will pollute the water and negatively affect the wildlife that I see on Cedar Lane Road. You can see how the terrain is set up and the runoff will go down to that stream. Lots 71,72,73,88,97, and 98 are closest to the neighborhood pond and stream. There is also another place that’ll be phase 2 and it used to be Dorian Farm. It sits right where Town Run starts. Why is a neighborhood being built there? There used to be a forest! Are there buffers or native plants that are going to be built around those houses? What happens to the runoff from this houses/lots?? Why is this neighborhood being built and are there buffers planned to be out in place? Are there ways to reduce fertilizer use for new lawns or at least build front lawn gardens so homeowners can reduce water usage and reduce use of fertilizers that will harm the environment? Not to mention the use of any other kind of runoff or trash that may happen when more people live in an area and more crowded traffic too.
