My wife and I went to Home Depot on Alpine Ave. Grand Rapids looking for a Milwaukee cordless drill with a hammer drill feature. We were having trouble finding the particular set ( drill only with 2 5amp batteries and charger) a store employee entered our info into her data base and located the exact set we wanted in just a couple minutes. We were in and out in 15 minutes. We left with exactly what we came for. No fuss, no muss. Bonus...  the set was discounted $30 off! Great shopping experience!

I shop around for wash detergent jumbo size pods of tide or gain. They had the best price. Omg. Funny thing. When you self check out it like a huge computer key board with a scanner. I looked at it like what do I do? The cashier was extremely helpful and we laughed at my skills on the new huge key board. Walked out laughing! Good service makes shopping fun.

Employees have been friendlier/helpful recently, but historically that hadn't been the case.

It's an awkward location on a busy corner, giving only one vehicle entrance and one exit that make any sense and can cause issues in heavy traffic.

Their inventory has gotten more accurate recently, or at least they have more inventory as things are coming back into normalcy.

All in all, the weaknesses the store has seem to be being addressed and the rest are out of their control.

Terrible installation procedures by workers and inadequate customer service for my dishwasher order.

I ordered a dishwasher, installation package, and removal of old unit. The delivery workers wanted me to "hire a plumber" to disconnect the unit from the water pex pipe, then to "hire a handy man" because they couldn't figure out how to remove the old unit. They also left my sink drain with an open spout upon removing the drain. The new packaged dishwasher was left in my garage.

After they left, it took me less than a minute to remove the old unit. I called customer service and explained the whole problem. They couldn't get anyone to come back the same day to fix the drain or install the new unit. I had to schedule for 7 days out. What a terrible way to treat a customer!

I was told by some people that they did a good job order kitchen cabinets.  So I went there because i was remodeling my kitchen i had a lay out and measurements that were done.  The lady working that day said she couldn't work off that also said they were 8 months or more booked up. So i guess some Home Depot will do cabinets for white customers without coming out to measure but for a black customer like myself they won't. I took my layout to two others (Menards and Discount Cabinets) they had no problem ordering cabinets for me using the layout. I bought  kitchen cabinets from Menards and bathroom from Discount Cabinets. Now i  still have a Home Depot gift card I need to sell it cause I'm not going back.
