At every stage of our project, it has been a pleasure to work with Taitem Engineering! Melissa Kemp, our Project Development Manager, has been incredibly knowledgeable, helpful, organized, informative, and responsive. Generous with her time, she worked with our family to understand us -- our patterns, and our needs -- so that we can try to bring our suburban home to "net-zero". Although installing a large solar array was a seemingly daunting process, Melissa has made it seem almost easy by taking on the bulk of the paperwork and guiding us through the various pieces of the project. In our minds, Melissa's professionalism sets the gold standard! We were delighted that this standard of excellence was consistent among all individuals who worked on the actual installation of the solar panels. Nick, Dave, Bill, Huck, Leo, and Luka were timely, considerate, neat, and careful -- reflecting the highest level of professionalism throughout the project. Deeply concerned for the world we are bequeathing our children, it feels comforting to harness cleaner sources of energy, and more mindfully monitor our habits of consumption. We are excited that renewable energy sources are becoming more readily available and affordable, and remain grateful to Taitem Engineering for their leadership in "thinking as if the Earth matters"!

I highly recommend Taitem for Photo Voltaic (PV) installation. I met Melissa Kemp at a benefit to support the plan to convert NY State to renewables in the next 25 years and was immediately impressed with her depth of knowledge regarding PV systems. Her initial site visit to my house gave me a straight forward understanding of possibilities and approximate costs. I had attended some “Solarize Tompkins (County)” meetings and had investigated solar PV on my own. While the cost for installation was higher than estimates I had seen from Solarize Tompkins, I wanted to work with a local firm that I am counting on to be there if I have any problems with the system in the future. I also wanted to work with a company I expected to be around for a long time, since this is a long-term investment. I had heard good things about Taitem from others. A detailed site analysis confirmed the possibilities of installing solar panels on my barn roof which led to a signed contract for a 9.5 kw system (36 panels), after a few adjustments. Work began on schedule. I was originally told that it should be about a 4 day job but more detailed inspection of the barn and roof made it clear that more work on the 170 year old structure was necessary for a top quality job. Taitem did some extensive reinforcement and straightening of the roof and supporting walls which was not originally anticipated and while this must have added substantial cost to Taitem, there was no charge to me. The 4 day job stretched on for 13 days. I believe their engineers are geared for overbuilding their products, which is definitely the way to go. Everybody from Taitem that worked on this was friendly, competent, knowledgeable and professional. It was a pleasure interacting with them. From my initial calculations of power generation since the PV installation it looks like this system is going to produce even more power than originally anticipated! Time will tell. In the meantime, I give Taitem 5 stars. They did a super job from start to finish.
