We had two men from Precision heating and cooling come out to evaluate our furnace and air conditioner, and diagnose some air flow problems. They charged a $99 fee to do diagnostics on my system, reasonable I think. They were professional, timely, and gracious in explaining everything they saw and recommended. We appreciated their help and will mostly likely use their services to install a new unit.

My HVAC replacement required a unique approach due to a poorly designed and installed system by the original builder. I consulted with and received bids from several companies, some suggesting that shortcuts would be required, and I would end up with a less than efficient system. That was until Precision Heating and Air assessed my project. John did a thorough assessment and designed a system to be installed in a space that other companies suggested would not be possible. Pricing was fair and was less than some competitive bids I received. That cost included a 10-year parts and labor warranty, a 10-year zero out of pocket promise, and the contract was absent of any fine pint that would have subjected me to additional costs for any issues discovered during installation. It was an all-inclusive, easy to read and easy to understand proposal. Coordination, scheduling and permits were expertly handled by Kerianna who communicated with me before, during and after installation. I am particularly pleased with the installers Glass and Forest, who during installation, "tweaked" John's initial design and improved it. Both Glass and Forest were professional from start to finish. The project took two full days. They started early each morning, worked late in the day, cleaned the job site from top to bottom, and took the time to answer all my questions. They were minimally disruptive while being respectful and courteous throughout the process. Execution was flawless. They are a good team that Precision Heating and Air is fortunate to have. If Glass and Forest get assigned to your project you will be in good hands.

I had an issue with my A/C not blowing cold. I called Precision because they installed my system. They answered quickly and sent someone over to my house the same day. The tech was super knowledgeable and diagnosed the issue right away by ear. All of this was very impressive and it is the only reason the review is not 1 star. The bad part of this review comes in after the tech diagnosed the issue and found the broken part. I asked for the part number and found it online for anywhere from $40 - $80. But the tech told me the part was going to cost like, $475 to install, plus a service fee of $70. Then I asked about getting the part myself, and somehow it would have been even more expensive to install that. I really sympathize with the tech and do not blame him at all. I could tell he was going through all of the canned responses that the company must have given him to try to get customers to pay a near 600% markup on a part that I can get from the local store. I politely declined to pay that and will begrudgingly pay the $99 for a diagnostic. Now I can get an electrician to install the part for probably another $100 and all I'm out is $280 instead of the near $700 Precision was going to charge me. I'm just lucky it is March and I can wait a few days. I do not plan on calling Precision again for any sort of service or maintenance. Edit 4/1/2022: Your response contains the exact same rhetoric that the technician tried to explain, and as I explained to him, your math does not work. If the $485 includes the tech's experience and your business costs and such, what is the $70 service fee about? A respectable business would charge 50-100% markup on a part. At the most expensive that would be $160 for the part. The tech spent a total of 1 hour at my place to diagnose the issue, remove and test the part and could have replaced it, all in less than 1 hour and I guarantee you're not paying the tech $70/hr. A licensed journeyman electrician makes around $30/hr. $260 would have been a fair price to me, including vehicle, operations, etc. and that still leaves you with $100 of profit. So apparently I'm paying $295 (555-260) for "American Made Parts", "Warranties", "Reputation" and licensed techs all of which every other business has. Next time you decide to try and place a value on your service, show your work, because your math doesn't make sense to someone who manages operations for a living. Or, rather it makes sense for a business that is wildly mismanaged or trying to gouge customers. To anyone who reads this, this service was in March, had it been in August, they would have really had me over a barrel. I would not recommend risking it.

Hi there, we appreciate the opportunity to diagnose your situation. Our techs try very hard to explain and build the value for all diagnosed repairs. The $485 quote for the service you required included an American Made part with a 5-year warranty, installation by a highly trained licensed technician, employed by a company with a 50-year reputation of standing behind the quality of our work and will be here to answer the phone quickly if ever that warranty is needed. We’re very happy to hear that we provide you a high level of customer service and we’re very sorry we didn’t meet your pricing expectations. Please be aware that services performed on HVAC equipment by unlicensed contractors may void any warranty you have on your system. Thank you.
