  I try to write reviews when the service or product is outstanding. I want to make sure they receive the recognition they deserve. First, after searching online I was pleasantly surprised to find any appliance repair service in our small village of Bellaire. Northern Appliance serves most of northwest MI. After placing the service call late in the day we realized our refrigerator was failing, Northern Appliance was able to get to us the next day. Randy was the person who handled our service call. Within 30 minutes - after testing multiple voltage locations on the fridge, reviewing the online manual, he had the problem diagnosed and the part ordered. He explained that it was likely one of two boards. Unfortunately our Whirlpool Gold refrigerator (only 5 years old) was a one year of production unit and the service manual was extremely lacking. A unicorn of sorts. Randy kept us up to date on the status of the parts, one parts delivery issue and followed through on multiple appointments in a timely manner. Ultimately after replacing multiple parts, he determined the compressor failed too - though it had gotten cold to the touch after replacing the first board and appeared to be working. We thought it was fixed at this point. Randy checked back after 3 hours to confirm it was still working. Unfortunately, it failed to continue cooling. The cost to repair the compressor was just to great to be cost effective. Randy advised purchasing a new fridge. After 3 trips he only charged us for a service call although he couldn't return the parts as they were now considered used. Finding a business that is customer focused is rare these days. Finding a business with integrity that stands behind their work, highly responsive with great communication, prompt service and outstanding ethics is unheard of. I can not recommend Northern Appliance and Randy especially, highly enough! Should I ever need another appliance repaired they will be my first call! They should be your first call too.

  While I did not end up using Northern Appliance because I needed someone sooner than they were able to come, the guy I spoke with was very helpful, gave me an idea of what might be going on and was kind enough to recommend another local business that may be able to help me sooner. He did not have to do any of that, but the fact he did speaks volumes to the type of person he is and how willing he is to put customers above profits. In the future if I need appliance repair I won’t hesitate to give them a call!

  I am elated to have my dishwasher back in service thus eliminating my dishpan hands! Randy was so familiar with my brand of dishwasher that he diagnosed the problem and ordered the parts after I described its symptoms. Upon arriving, he was both knowledgeable and professional. He expediently fixed the dishwasher and charged me exactly the price he had earlier quoted. I am highly satisfied with the quality service I received from Northern Appliance today!
