Would not recommend this company. They also changed their name to Sherwood Contractors. The company sent a tech to my moms home to look at my moms A/C unit for freezing up. After the tech diagnosed the problem, he said the evaporator coil was rusted out and leaking and needed to be replaced. The owner Ed Jones gave me an estimate of $700 and I agreed to that. This was on a Friday around 2pm, he the tech replaced the evaporator coil and added the required Freon and left exactly at 5pm without checking to see if the unit was performing correctly. The next day Saturday, I went to my moms to check on her and to see if the unit was working correctly, I went directly to the a/c condenser and noticed ice was built, up on the low pressure line. I immediately went into to attic where her unit was and noticed how messy the area was around the unit and also noticed that the the end door on the new evaporator coil was open and haven’t been screwed to the top of the evaporator coil. I came down from the attic and called the owner and he told me that’s why it was freezing up. he told me get some foil tape and tape it closed until he he was able to get over there, they were on another job at the time. I told him that I did not have any tape. So when they actually got over there to take a look at it, my mom went out to the owner which was sitting in his truck and would not get out of truck to discuss the problem, my mom chewed him out and told him that she was not going to pay the remaining $200 for sorry work and to have to be sitting in the heat. He told my mom that “I am done with you!” After that my mom went back inside and shortly after that, the tech came down from the attic and left with the owner without checking to see if the unit was working correctly! After about 10 minutes the unit started freezing up again. I told my mom that I would call someone else on Monday morning and they came out promptly and said that the blower motor had burned up. They replaced the motor and checked that the unit was working correctly! The bottom line was, that the blower motor could have been the problem all along.

We hired these guys to change out our outlets and light switches. After they left three light fixtures and a couple of outlets didn't work. They came back out an hour late the next appt to tell us all of our fixtures went bad at the same time so we needed to pay them more to fix it the fixtures. We didn't have any other option but to hire another electrician and he came out and the didn't hook up a neutral on one of the outlets which in turn knocked out the other outlets and switches.

We had a compressor go out in 2016 on an AC unit installed in 2014 by another contractor. This contractor was not listed as warranty contractor for York, so York gave me a list of contractors to call. Jones was listed as one, and they were available to do the repair immediately. They charged $500 for labor (parts were covered) to replace the compressor, which was about twice what it should have been. Come to find out Jones didn't install the factory supplied AC dryer, which my current contractor said could have lead to the second failure of the compressor. About 12 days ago, the compressor went out again. I called Jones since they installed the previous one, and they said they would get right on it. They strung me along for 10 days telling me that they have to check this and that and then finally told me that they are no longer doing warranty repair for York. Now I am starting the process all over to find another contractor. We have now been in a hot house in the middle of summer for 12 days.
