Everyone I worked with from office personnel to the techs was very professional. Small supply chain issues but the office was great with communication. Everything installed and works wonderfully. I would highly recommend this company!

Our 3 ton system stopped cooling. We have an older system with R22 refrigerant. The tech told my wife that "no one had the old R22" and that he would have to vacuum out the old refrigerant and since it was an older system that it would have to be replaced with MO99 refrigerant. We also asked him to give us a quote on a new system. Off the top of his head he gave me $6k. He said they would email a quote. It never came. BTW, the cost of MO99 is about $200 for 25 lbs. He charged us nearly $400 for 8 lbs. The following week we called another company to get a quote on a new system. The tech quoted us $7700 fully installed for a 4 ton unit. I said it was a shame that they couldn't get the R22 anymore. He said "what are you talking about I have 4 tanks in my truck right now". I said the tech from Currier told us it was unavailable to anyone. He said "it's simply not true". He should have given you the option. Day before yesterday it stopped cooling again. Since we wanted to get a third replacement quote we called another company. The tech came out on a Saturday. Tested the system said the compressor was not kicking on. I asked what would cause that since we had a new starting capacitor installed about two years ago. He said it was not uncommon for MO99 to cause a compressor to overheat on an older system. He also said if the tech who put the MO99 in did not vacuum out the old refrigerant well it could cause the problem. Then he asked. Why we would put MO99 instead of R22. We told him what the Currier tech said. He also said "that's not true" and said the tech should have given us the option. We asked him for a quote. 3 ton 15 seer, $4850. We were confused by this. He did get the existing system running with a hard start kit capacitor and it is cooling again. We called our brother-in-law who is a GC. We told him the story of the three contractors. He said use the 3rd guy. He is the "honest" player of the 3. He said if we accept bigger commercial units that the system may not cool the house as well as the original 3 ton. He said that once they get started they run better and are more efficient while running. That bigger units might not remove the humidity from the house as well as the smaller unit. (Pretty much exactly what the 3rd guy said.) So even though we don't expect that Currier to refund us anything, we hope this will encourage them to have their techs be a little more transparent with their customers.
