Response from the owner
We were called the morning of 1/7/22 by a very unhappy wife to look at a furnace that her husband had been attempting to fix himself. Went to the home the evening of 1/7/22. Customer stated to technician that original problem was that blower motor would not start and would run very slowly. Customer had purchased a blower motor and replaced themselves. The new motor they installed did the exact same thing as old motor. Customer then purchased a universal control board replacement kit that they did not want to attempt to install themselves. When the tech arrived to the home, the existing control board had already been removed and all wiring was disconnected and loose in the furnace. Tech installed new control board kit, reassembled furnace and blower motor would still not run. Customer became upset as they had purchased and replaced their own motor, purchased a universal control board kit, paid to have that installed and problem was still there. Tech suggested that when customer replaced the motor, it may have very well been damaged by the old circuit board and that the motor may very well need to be replaced again. As it was now late and the customer had another source of heat in the home, the tech left and planned to return Saturday. Charge for that call was $160 for two hours to install new board and reconnect all wiring disconnected by customer. On Saturday, when the tech could come out, he contacted the customer via text, but the customer said they had somewhere to go to and to come Sunday. Tech eventually scheduled with them to come Monday morning and see if anything else could be wrong with furnace. Tech came out Monday and could find nothing else wrong other than motor. No charge for time on Monday. At no time did anyone here say that the furnace NEEDED to be replaced. It was only suggested that if the furnace continues to have issues, that replacement should be considered and that the ballpark price would be around $4000.00. We are happy that you decided to replace your motor again and that your furnace is operating properly. In hindsight, you would have saved quite a bit of time, money and frustration if you had not worked on your furnace yourself and made the mistake of having to purchase two blower motors and a universal control board. We would have saved our tech a lot of time and frustration by not taking a call for a furnace that the homeowner had been attempting to fix themselves. Again, we are happy that you got your heat going. Sometimes DIY repairs are not as simple as they seem and the problem can become worse. Auto mechanics, heating technicians, plumbers, electricians - they all exist for a reason.

They came here months ago in the summer to give me a second opinion on my Heat pump. I had another company for years doing it but I was always getting told I'll need a new system soon well I was without heat and air close to a year because I had no money for a new heat pump. So I call a place and they had you all come out and the guys looked over everything and told me you don't need a new system and they fixed a few things put a new thermostat in they had to come back couple of times only because it was to hot in my attic and had to get the right thermostat etc... Id say its been 6 or 7 months now and my heat pump has never worked this good in over the 10 years I've used it and also my electric bill has dropped alot in price because the unit is working like it should. I thank you all for helping me get this fixed and were 100% honest as well unlike the other company. Thank you again...
