Our A/C unit is only 7 years old. I called A Stepping Stone for a minor issue. My condensate drain was clogged. They claimed to have fixed it. A few days later, our overhead unit was dripping even more. I called them and they scheduled us for service 2 days later. The technician claimed the previous technician didn't replace the AC drain line cap appropriately, which was causing the problem. He said he fixed it. 2 mins later, more dripping. So, he angled our drain pan, so it would flow better towards the drain line. Meanwhile he tells me, it going to cost $9500, should we have to replace our unit. (It's only 7 years old!) Within 1 hour of his departure, our AC stopped working, completely. I called their answering service. The 'on-call' technician called back and said he had Covid and couldn't physically take the call. (Why would you assign a technician with Covid to be your on-call technician?) So ... he is instructing the lady of the house (Me) how to climb up a 12 ft ladder and fix the unit, myself. Seriously? Why would you expect your customers to fix their units? We had a maintenance agreement with them. Unsuccessful. He said he would call the technician, who was at our house, (Dean) to ask what service he performed, but, the on-call technician never called back. 2 hours later, I called for a status quo ... meanwhile our house if now at 86 degrees. 45 mins later he texts me back and said the other technician is not answering his phone ... but, left my number with him to call back. No effort for another next day service call, nothing. Just left us hanging. It was a long, long night at 86 degrees and I care for an elderly, sickly parent. Not good. There was never anything wrong with the cooling function on our A/C. It was just a clogged condensate drain. This morning I called A Stepping Stone's office asking for the owner. He's not in. I explained to the receptionist (Rachael) what transpired. She told me the on-call technician didn't have COVID and agreed the series of events were unprofessional. (Basically, Jacob (the on call technician) lied) She said she would put us on the schedule ASAP and call back to confirm our time. 2 hours later, no response. I called back ... "oh, I forgot to call you", she said. I called another company, explained our situation and he was here in 15 mins. When they opened panel on the outdoor unit, it was filthy, dirty and disgusting. It was never cleaned. I was paying for a maintenance agreement with these people for what, I don't know, now.. My new A/C company fixed the problem in 20 minutes and said we didn't need a new unit ... ours worked just fine. A Stepping Stone lied, repeatedly, they don't follow up on calls, they leave customers hanging, they are unprofessional, lack good customer skills and why in the world did I have a maintenance agreement when they never properly serviced our unit? They have a bad reputation in our neighborhood and I was forewarned and didn't heed the warning. I had to leave a star ... would have preferred to leave no star, but was not given that option. I fully intend to report the to the BBB. Would NOT recommend them. No, No, No ...

James was my technician, the guy was all of the above!!! While trouble shooting why the pan was not draining he walked me through the process and explained what causes it to clog and what draino he suggested. It took him all of 35-40max. Thanks again James!!!
