Horribly unprofessional and downright cruel. Treated a family member of mine like absolute garbage in an attempt to - what, make themselves feel better? If you don’t like animals work somewhere else. If you don’t like the general public work somewhere else. The two women working there would be better off doing LITERALLY anything different. If you’re going to talk down to somebody please look in the mirror at yourself first. Take your animal somewhere they’ll be taken care of. This place either needs to be shut down or these awful women need to be fired.

I appreciate this facility holding our dog after we were hospitalized from a car accident. They were closed on Sunday so I called Monday to check on my dog - the gentleman I spoke to was very cordial and informative and mentioned they could hold the dog for 10 days after a car accident. I was relieved since our vehicle was totaled, we are stuck in a another state and have broken/fractured back, ribs and neck. Wednesday I was called to find out when we'd be picking up the dog, the gentleman was nice on phone however the woman chiming in, in background was very unapologetically rude (whatever happened to the 10 day policy 🤔) Thursday we were able to borrow a vehicle to get our dog out of shelter. The pick up was a smooth transaction and the gentleman was very nice & polite. Seems like the woman/women working here should take notes from the gentleman who work here on customer service. Thank you again Whitfield Animal Shelter for keeping our precious puppy safe during this hard period.

Went to adopt a dog on the day the dogs hold date was up and told it was promised to the SPCA and was being transferred to Tampa FL. Makes no sense, adopt the dog out locally or ship it. If it’s first come then there should be no “promising” of an animal to any group. Very disappointing to see that they would rather ship the dog b/c it makes the spca more $ to adopt the little dogs out. SPCA charges way more. The lady was very unprofessional as well.
