  I used to work there as a seasonal employee. The hotel is nice itself. Beautifully renovated , nice decor in the rooms. Although, the management is quite bad. If they don’t favor you don’t expect anything good from them. There was this favoritism feeling in the hotel. The popular ones were always on top awarded as the employees of the month, admired by everyone. One person I want to mention is Mr. Robert Eskins. He is the nicest, most helpful person in the entire hotel. He went out of his way to help us out multiple times. I am grateful that he was keeping the hotel together and us employees happy. As far as the guests they didn’t see anything from this. Usually they were cheap. Barely leaving a few dollars every once in a while to show us their appreciation. The hotel is close to the docks. I would say 10-15 minutes walk. Give or take. Nice restaurant of the hotel called Bonanza. Programs for everyday, delicious menu, fresh food. Employees get discounts. Kind, cheerful people at front desk. Skagway is beautiful and I would recommend to visit Westmark Inn Skagway!

  The first time I stayed at the Westmark, there was some early morning construction that woke me up. I was very irate and complained to the manager who was more than apologetic for the situation. He knew my group was going to be coming back in about a month and promised he'd make it right. Fast forward a month, and sure enough he kept his promise. Not only did he remember my group and me, but he went out of his way to give us rooms that suited our needs. I was very impressed that he was concerned and conscientious about us having a good stay. That is the type of customer service that is, sadly, disappearing, but I am very thankful for. The staff was helpful in storing our items before we were able to check in and then getting us to our rooms. The rooms in the new section are tastefully done (I like the first floor decor better) and very clean! Since Skagway is heavy with Cruise tourists, people tend to come and go at very early hours which may contribute to hallway noise. Overall, I'd recommend!

  This place is great! Bath and shower is top notch. Bed is big and comfy. Fan in closet. Smells wonderfully clean and fresh when you enter your room. Rates in top five of the many hotels I have stayed in. Genuinely great place to stay!
