  I have tried multiple times to message a friend. He never gets the message. Perhaps there should be a reconsideration of the employees tasked with carrying out these simple tasks.

  Ably run by Sheriff David Mahoney, the Transylvania County Sheriff's Office is extremely responsive to the needs of the community. Thanks to the David Mahoney and his deputies and civilian staff, the county has a very low crime rate. Mahoney makes sure the marked cars are highly visible as they provide protection to the the county's citizens.

  “We’ll try to help you the best we can.” - said Deputy B. (Since 2017) during our conversation. I met two members of this agency (one of them might’ve been the Sheriff). After losing my keys up in a mountain waterfall, I managed to get in touch with them while they were hanging out nearby. Deputy B. drove me to my car, unlocked my car so that I could access my essentials , let me try and find the keys, and came back and drove me to town down the mountain so that I could get cellular signal and figure out my next step. Both of them helped, were very courteous, and were very patient. I’ve met police officers like this only once before - in Kansas City suburbs. I hope more officers are like this.
