We had an issue with our dryer that was still under warranty. The dryer manufacturer set the appointment up with A&E Factory Services and below was our experience with them. The first "technician" was terrible. He did not bring in any tools or actually look at our appliance to try and properly diagnose the issue. His only "troubleshooting" was to run our appliance through a typical cycle for 5 minutes (not the full cycle). He then ordered 2 parts that we needed to wait a week for and reschedule a return trip. He never tested or verified anything to arrive at his diagnosis. He seemed more concerned about getting to the next appointment than he did worrying about fixing our issues. Our second technician, stated that the parts we waited a week for, were parts that would not fix our issue. The second technician brought in tools, diagnosed the issue, acquired the correct parts locally, and fixed the issue all in the same trip. He was very professional and was quick and efficient at resolving our issues. Even with a prior misdiagnosis from the previous technician and having to leave and come back with the correct parts, he still had the issue fixed in a little over an hour. Had this repair been coming out of my pocket I would have been much more upset and vocal. However, I understand it wasn’t the second technicians fault and he did what he had to do to make things right by us. Unfortunately, my 1 star review from the first technician drops the second technicians 5 star review down to a 3 star overall.

See Update: At end: Technician was on time and friendly, however I paid $280 to install a $40 part that took only a few minutes and it did not fix the problem. It seemed to work for a short time while he was there, once he left we checked again and it is still not cooling. So, we paid $327 for a repair that did not fix anything. Update - I originally gave a 2 as the 1st technician replaced a part that did not fix anything. Andrew came by who I had spoken to before when we had a problem in the summer and he saved me a visit with just a phone call. This time he explained that it was not working due to it being so cold in the garage, and the 25 year ld refrigerator is just not made for that. When we turned the temp inside the refrigerator side all the way down it works fine. So in the end I'll ask for Andrew, and I have spent $327 to replace something that was not needed. Had Andrew come out first I would have paid a $99 service call and that would have been the end. Sears service is easy to book, but if you don't get the right technician you may pay for parts you do not need.

These people are a joke. Every time we have had them out it is a load of excuses and we end up with even more damages or repairs needed from their work. Also be prepared to wait weeks for your appliance to actually be repaired. It takes at least a week for them to come out then if parts are needed you better be ready to wait at least 1 more. Or worse your in my shoes where they came to fix my dryer, damaged it more then come to fix it more then need parts and I am without a dryer for 3+weeks. You could do better Sears.
