Call for service 7/20/21 on my less than 3 year old Kenmore Elite still under warranty. They could not send someone until 8/3/21 and if I had another repair company come in it would void my warranty. They said it sounded like a compressor and they are very expensive so I had to wait. On August 3 the repair men was there 3 hours putting in a new compressor said it would take a day for it to be cool. It is now 8/9/21 still does not work I called them back on 8/4/21 to say it was still warm inside they said they could not send someone until 8/12/21 to repair. This is shameful my husband has medication that needs refrigerated plus it is awful not having a working refrigerator for length of time.

The service technician was good. The overall service was good. However we were without use of our refrigerator for a period of 3 weeks. Took 2 service calls to pin point the problem, then a week for the necessary parts to arrive. At first the ice maker quit working then while waiting for the ice maker service the entire refrigerator quit working.

The technician stated that the compressor was not working and that it was a problem with this model. LG knows it’s an issue, but is having problems supporting the replacement parts. He was going to call his supervisor to see what alternate compressor’s or if there are any compressors available to fix the fridge. When he came back, he stated that his supervisor suggested just replacing the fan. Once the fan was replaced, the tech stated that that should do it and that it would take 24-48 hours to get cold. Service was on Thursday and I waited until Sunday. Still no ice and the fridge temp would not go below 60 degrees. Freezer at 50. Now, I have to spend another day waiting on a tech to come out and order the compressor and another day to have it installed IF/Whenever it does come in. I have a special needs daughter with Autism and diabetes. Her routine of making her breakfast is totally off because the fridge doesn’t work. It would not be so bad except that the supervisor knew that the compressor was bad and chose to just replace the fan in order to clear the call. If a compressor was not available or was going to take some time, fine! We can problem solve and work something out. Just do not lie to me. I really want the supervisor to pay for his/her poor service and dishonesty. They should be selling used cars and not working in the service industry.
