Richard's did a great job replacing our two a/c and heating systems. Their price was very competitive. They were extremely professional, always on time, cleaned up after themselves, and explained what they were doing at all times. We're very happy with their work. Dan both scoped the project and then lead the installation. We would definitely use them again.

We heard of Richards through a referral on Nextdoor. Our ac system was not working properly, so called and made an appointment. They were available the next day between one and three, and showed up at 2:30. They touched base to say that they were on the way. Bonus! We have an old ac system , and were afraid that we would be pressured into buying something we didn’t want. When the technician arrived he was personable & professional . He found the issue and addressed it and we felt that it was a fair price. It turned out we needed a new capacitor and motor. He didn’t have the motor on hand , but checked with dispatching to see what his schedule was the next day and returned promptly with said motor. Again, after letting us know he was on the way. Kudos to Olim Toscano, the ac tech- a great employee!!!

Alex (the service manager at Richards) came to my house to troubleshoot my A/C. The compressor was shutting off in hot weather. He said that I needed to replace the compressor or install a new condenser unit and that either would remedy the problem. He replaced the compressor and charged us $1200. It did not fix the problem. Before he left my house, I asked what to do if I had a problem. He said that I wouldn’t because condensers last 10 years. When I called him back in to re-diagnose, he said that I would have to spray the coils with water whenever the compressor shuts off. Alex from Richards HVAC misdiagnosed the problem, charged me $1200 and left me in exactly the same spot I was to begin with. I understand that mistakes happen when diagnosing complicated HVAC systems, but the expense should be the business owner, not the customer.
