  Our 20 year old HVAC died one hot summer day and this company send technician same day! He was very thorough, did all the needed repairs bringing our system back to life and charged us much less than what we were asked by another “big name” HVAC company that few days earlier did AC check and strongly suggested replacing the system giving us rather inflated quote. I had some concerns if repairs would last on such an old system but technician affirmed me that if it breaks apart in the near future and we decide to replace it then they will give us discount matching the cost of the recharging done. Fair and honest. Highly recommend this company.

  I have been using Residential (Now Commander) Heating and Air for a couple of years now. I had another local company come out and they handed me a laundry list of things that were wrong with my almost new system which wasn't cooling well. The estimates were from $2400 to $4400 ranging from what must be done to what should be done. I was not convinced and decided to get a couple of other quotes before doing anything. One of the companies couldn't come out for a week, Residential H & A came out the next day. That was already earning my appreciation in a hot NC summer! The technician was able to fix the AC so it was cooling. They cleaned and serviced both units and replaced a couple of faulty parts, charged both systems, and all of it was only $500! The next service period, Vaughn was reviewing the previous service work, he discovered the technician had made a mistake in the previous repair, they corrected the issue, & they credited $125 to our account instead of charging for a repair call. Finally my Mom, who is retired and on a fixed income, had her heat go out. She asked a neighbor who she used, and that company came out on a weekend. It was getting pretty cold and she needed it fixed. That company charged her $140 just for the visit, and said they would have to order the part and it would be around $500 to fix it. She was very upset, and panicked. She called me and I gave her Vaughn's number, she called and he came out on Monday. Fixed the heating unit with a simple fix, and also found a safety hazard and fixed that, all for a fraction of what the other company was going to charge. Honesty is hard to find these days. The fact that Commander/Residential only fixes what needs to be repaired, means so much! They don't try to make a living by price gouging every customer, and they will be rewarded over the long term because they will keep customers like me, and my Mom by being honest and fair and doing great work.

  They run a terrific operation. FAST, fair, honest as well as knowledgeable. I highly recommend this great team. The next time I have heating/cooling service needs, I won't waste my time and money with anyone else.
