  A few weeks ago Monday, April 4th 2022, Mclain Heating and Cooling, (Kingsport, TN), delivered and installed new heat pump and air handler necessarily replacing old worn out units that had served me 13 years, and 22 years respectively, keeping my interior climate to my liking. In fact the prior units had been provided and installed and serviced by Mclain H&C. That's pretty cool on its own huh?...Yes it sure is....But wait..there's more! 45 years more...you heard me right...45 years ago (1977)....(good times man)...Mclain H&C provided and installed the original system when the house was constructed by my Father, "Ron". As the 2nd generation owner, and with experience using Mclain's for service, (45 years of solid dependable service), they were an obvious choice for a bid. As well, this being an unexpexted, unavoidable expenditure, I called 3 other companies to compete for a bid. Seemed like a good idea you know, the old rule of thumb, " get at least 3 bids." How did that go you ask? I will gladly tell ya. Mclain's, true to form, showed up the day I called them to get their needed info, and answer my questions. This was on a Friday. Three other companies were scheduled for (1) Saturday, (2) Monday. Saturday called and rescheduled for Monday. Come Monday I half dreaded spending all day getting estimates, tying me up from 11:00 am - 4:30 pm as per scheduled times. So let me answer the question prior, "how did that go?...Turns out it went quite good. I got a lot done cleaning out my basement while waiting for estimates. In fact I was able to finish my basement completely! Yay!, because not one of the other companies showed up, and only one called to reschedule. Which I did. That same Monday evening Mclain's called with quote, complete info and a projected install date. I told them thanks and that I would get back to them with my decision in few days. Still waiting for at least one other quote. After a couple hours the same day, thinking about the job ahead, the expenditure, and importance of the project, it hit me like a ton of bricks!...I thought, Whisky Tango Foxtrot am I waiting for? The question of who, had already shown itself based on the 4 companies involved. The one that did exactly what was expected right off the bat. That's Right Folks, you guessed correctly. MCLAINS HEATING and COOLING!! ..Duh...As usual for 45 years at this address, they did everything they said they would from start to completion promptly, efficiently, cleanly, and with expected quality. As well I would like to add, the employee technicians they send out to work are professional, personable, and as compliant as possible to make it actually a pleasant experience leaving me feeling like I got more than my money's worth. Randy, who had serviced my old unit 2 or 3 times prior to, and now working installing new units, is an asset to the company for sure, (even if he does tend to get above average gassy after lunch,.. keep some Beano on hand and tell him they're chicken flavored mints). Sincerely a truly great experience in all facets of the Job. Thank you Randy, Malichi, Jeff, and all employees of Mclains for your reliable quality service the past 45 years. I'm also relieved to know that for rest of my time here there's only one company I have to call for future service. If you don't know who that is, then you might want to work on your reading comprehension skills...To all the other HVAC companies out there, good luck, and a bit of advice, strive to emulate Mclains Heating and Cooling if you truly want not just satisfied customers, but grateful, beyond satisfied customers who don't think twice about handing you several thousand dollars, while feeling like they got the deal of a century from an old friend.👍👍

  Installed new gas furnace. They did an amazing job very professional crew. Had several big name companies give quotes and McLain heating and cooling beat their pricing and their estimated install time. I would recommend them to anyone.

  I had a new heat pump and gas furnace system installed yesterday. This crew along with Mike were a pleasure to work with. The crew did some neat problem solving and Mike pointed out some features that made life so much nicer e.g. the iwave filter. Also some superb cold air return filter that make the system super quiet. Both my wife and I are so pleased with the entire operation. This was a quality experience that's difficult to find these days.
