Wonderful company, Have used them for several years. Last week our old central air went completely out. They told us it would be a week for a new one. Got it here and installed in two days. Friendly, helpful, just good people. Price was a lot less than we expected as well. I could not imagine using anyone else.

Thank you Mr McFarland for your kind words. We hope you are doing better now that y'all got your air conditioning going again.

This review is based on one interaction/experience with the company. We have just recently purchased the house and in mid July the cooling would not go down past 78 degrees. Our regular HVAC company would not be able to come out for another 3 days so we gave it a shot and contacted Mathis Heating and Cooling (Conway, AR). They were not busy and came out right away (which seemed somewhat alarming but I went with it against my instinct). I was not home and my wife dealt with the technician. According to the Mathis, our unit was leaking R22, had a leak in the coils and capacitor was out. The tech refilled 4 pounds of R22, rewired the system and replaced capacitor. At the end of the visit I was presented with $430 bill and the news that I need to replace my coils ($2k~$3k). Three days after the visit of Mathis, my regular HVAC contractor could finally make it. I was told my system barely holds 4 pounds of R22, they had to rewire all the work Mathis has done and did not see any problems with my coils. The only problem I had was an expansion valve was clogged up and was not cooling a house appropriately ($50 charge to replace the part). Long story short, in my one time experience with Mathis Heating and Cooling, I believe this company is nothing but a fraud and a scam. I would not recommend them to anyway. Thanks for reading.

Everyone in the air conditioning business is busy in July, including Mathis Heating & Cooling. We work hard by making the required investment in staff & tools to provide our customers with same day service especially when their system is broken down. Mr. Nagay called us looking for someone to repair a broken down air conditioning system in a rental house they had just purchased. We did the repair that afternoon. The system had numerous problems which drove up the repair cost. 1) The outside unit would not start due to a failed run capacitor which we replaced. 2) Once the outside unit was running, we discovered the fan relay on the furnace control board was not powering up the blower motor. Our technician disabled the furnace control and wired in a temporary relay so the inside fan would come on with to air conditioning until the furnace control board could be replaced. 3) Once the system was running, it was almost out of refrigerant, so we recharged it with 4 pounds of R22 refrigerant. The cost of the refrigerant made up a little over half the repair cost. We found leaks in the evaporator coil by using an electronic leak detector and recommended replacing the coil since the system had lost that much refrigerant. 4) The superheat was still not right because the expansion valve was clogged up and needed replaced. We removed the expansion valve sensing bulb to get it to open as much as possible so the system would cool until the expansion valve could be replaced. It should be noted that it’s impossible to install an expansion valve for $50 especially since they generally cost more than $50 at a supply house. Our service manager called Mr. Nagay to provide costs for the additional needed repairs. Mr. Nagay stated that his regular company had made the repairs and didn’t express any concerns or problems about our repair cost.

I have used them for 10 years. They are always the quickest. They never try to sell you anything you dont need. I had a home warranty for a year and canceled it after having to do business with someone else. I also trust them in my home. I have a 20 year old system and they have kept it running!
