I called after another service said they couldn't recharge my outside unit and I was assured that they could complete the work. I was charged (another) $80 diagnostic fee for a five minute inspection. That tech then left my wife and newborn in a hot house without much explanation. Today I expect a technician to resolve the issue and got a salesman who also told me that they don't carry what is needed to repair the unit and left with apologies but kept my money. Not happy. Edit: I got a call from Ted but he was more interested in me understanding him than he was in understanding me. Also, he was on speakerphone the whole time. I truly hope he needs the money more than I do.

Mr. Allen, I just left you a voicemail and hope to speak with you regarding your experience with our company today. We do charge a $79 diagnostic fee to come and and diagnose any HVAC system prior to doing any work for our customers. The diagnostic fee helps to cover the fuel/insurance and office expenses as well as technicians time to evaluate the equipment. The furnace in your home is a 60% AFUE furnace from 40-50 years ago the A/C system connected to the furnace is 16 years old and is using R-22 refrigerant which has not allowed to be manufactured in new equipment since 2010 per EPA. We have not installed these systems since 2006 in preparation of the phase- out of this refrigerant. The average life of any residential HVAC system is 10-15 years which puts this system beyond its expected life and with the fact that all of the refrigerant has leaked out of the system it would not be cost effective to try and add more refrigerant to this system which is why we recommended a replacement system for your house. Here is a website that details the phaseout of the refrigerant from the EPA. https://www.epa.gov/sites/default/files/2015-07/documents/phasing_out_hcfc_refrigerants_to_protect_the_ozone_layer.pdf As always I try to satisfy any customer we work with it sounds like there may have been a miscommunication with my technician and your wife. I look forward to you receiving a call back from my voicemail so we can resolve this issue. Our number is (703) 494 2855. Thanks Ted Leonard - President Leonard Splaine Co.

Rudy was excellent!! At the onset of a snowstorm, I was without heat or hot water. Rudy was able to troubleshoot the issue, test…and then troubleshoot the issues until he identified the area of fault. To my luck, he had all the parts on-hand that were need for repair. Needless to say, I am thankful and wife & kids are no longer shivering. Thank you!

All of these things were done at my house over period of a couple years. Each and every service was explained and performed well. I now have a top-notch heating system and AC system, and a great company to care for this equipment. Proud to have LEONARD SPLAINE around here.
