  The women who work here have trash attitudes and zero actual concern for helping dogs who need to be picked up off the street and cared for in a shelter. If you don’t actually care about animals why work at an animal shelter??? Big girl working the phones and front window really needs an attitude and work ethic adjustment if she wants to work at a place that’s supposed to better the community with tax payer money.

  The worst experience of my life!! My dog got off his runner one night and was lost. Of course the next morning I began checking LPAS in hopes they may have located him. I spent the next 29 days searching the neighborhoods' and the internet for my boy only to find a group on Facebook shared a picture of him from LPAS wearing his custom made lime green collar with his name stenciled on it. Finally we located our 15yr old Pitbull. Should I say Luckily, as LPAS never released his picture on their site, instead it went straight to their archives. When I arrived to pick him up I found him in a terrible state. Malnourished, neglected and resented. He had undergone a surgical procedure that required them to remove his stitches. This fact slipped the staffs mind until he was being brought out to me. The staffs disgruntled murmuring and the lack of attention to his health, along with the archiving of his adoption picture lead me to believe that this staff has a serious prejudice against pitbulls and their owners. I believe they intended to destroy him as soon as his 30 days were up. Instead this neglect on the part of LPAS caused many health issues for the last 2 years of his life. Ranging from incontinence to mild dementia. Upon getting him home I immediately had to treat him for parasites that he became infested with at the pound, Not being lost in a neighborhood. I know this because, his check in date to the pound was the morning after he became lost.

  I can agree that the staff is very rude. I had to surrender my dog unfortunately because of some problems where i live. I tried everything to keep him but I just couldn’t. It is such an horrible experience to surrender your dog. The staff was very rude and the lady was asking me if I had a fence or did I try using a shock collar. Trying to convince me to do something to keep him. Its unprofessional and she should not be giving her opinion. If I had a fence I wouldn’t have brought my dog there. Surrendering my dog was my last option.
