I dont write compalints on here often but i am extremely dissappointed and upset with this place. I have had the owner come out on two different occasions to clean and service my boiler. He convinced me to replace the tank and some bleeder valves for better operation of our boiler, a bill that totaled over $600. One month later the boiler completely stops working. I try calling grays but grays is no more, the owner retired and sold to a different company. I've had 2 different technicians assess my boiler and said the same thing. There was so much CO2 corrosion on the inside the boiler couldn't properly vent along with some faulty pilot light issues dangerous enough to not use my boiler. Even other companies were concerned that grays never checked or acknowledged any of this after so many service calls I've had with then. $7000 later new boiler. No thanks to grays

On 11-22-21 Nipsco Home Solutions sent out Total Green Energy Solutions to repair my water heater issue. The technician told me that Nipsco will not fix water heaters that are older than 10 years old and that he would have to take enter my repair request as non repairable since it was past 10 years old. I told him financially I couldn’t afford it. He told me that Total Green Energy Solutions can finance the purchase of a new water heater and install it. I asked him how much does a water heater cost and he told me about $1,500. I told him I couldn’t do it at this time. He told me he would put a service claim through to order the parts and fix the water heater. I asked him how long that would take since Thanksgiving was 3 days away and he told me he didn’t know. He also said if I didn’t want to wait a long time that I could purchase the Pilot Assembly and the Gas Control Valve myself or go with another company called Summers Plumbing Heating & Cooling. Today is 12-8-21 and I have yet to hear back from Total Green Energy Solutions or the technician that came to repair my water heater. What I find disturbing is that the technician told me he doesn’t know how long it will take to get the parts but I was able to order the parts from Reliable Parts and they were delivered the next day. The total cost of the parts was $413.63. I’m not sure if Nipsco Home Solutions or Total Green Energy Solutions is trying to scam me to pay for a new water heater that would’ve cost me a lot more than what I paid for the parts. This is ridiculous.
Response from the owner
Bibi, I'm sorry you feel this is some sort of scam and you had a bad experience. However, because the average life span of water heaters is 10-15yrs, Home Solutions recommends we deem anything over 10yrs old because the cost to repair after parts & labor is usually more than what the water heater is worth and about the same as getting a new one after the $400 credit they give you. Looking at the notes, we ordered the parts and have them and we've made several attempts to contact you but the mailbox was full.

Tony was very quick and efficient. When presented with some very tight quarters to work in he went above and beyond to install my new water heater and remove the old one. I would give him the highest rating. It was a pleasure working with him.

Thanks for the great review Bill! We'll be sure to pass it along to Tony!
