  Replaced the first coil after only ~4 years, parts only covered. Super heater water pump now needs replaced and have a second coil leak. Unit is loud during operation as the main compressor is mounted directly to a metal plate with no isolation and doesn't have any noise control insulation directly around it. Cabinet is well insulated with foam but just doesn't cut it. Deciding on whether to dump more into this or have it replaced after only 9 years of use. Unfortunately I think we got a lemon that was compounded by a very poor original installation when we built the house. I recommend geothermal but maybe just not this brand of system.

  The evaporator coil on my GeoComfort Geothermal system failed after 8 years. GeoComfort supplied the replacement part under warranty, but I was still on the hook for the $900 of labor it took to install it. Since creating the above review in which I gave GeoComfort 1 star, a representative from the company reached out to me and talked about how they have redesigned their evaporator coil to be more durable and now make them out of aluminum. The also gave me a recommendation for a local HVAC company that met their standards for quality should I need service work performed. They also discussed the important of registering your product for warranty coverage. I have gone from not being a fan to looking at the company much more favorably.

  Hi Don, We're sorry to hear that you've experienced an issue with your GeoComfort System. We do offer a free warranty upgrade to cover labor allowances on years 6 - 10, which you may not have been made aware of when you purchased your system. In order to be eligible for this, you would have needed to register your unit within 60 days of installation. Installers and service contractors are independent businesses that charge their own rates for labor and service.
