We spent the past week cold in a 45-50 degree house because Fire & Ice refused to do a very simple clean needed to get our boiler running last week. All it took was 15 minutes for another company to clean the electrode, just as we told Fire & Ice’s serviceman was needed to get the boiler running. When our electrode gets dirty, our boiler faults out and has to be manually reset over and over. We explained this, but they refused to clean it. Cleaning wasn't considered "repair" work to them. They told us our boiler was “working” and that we weren’t a “priority” as OTHER people had furnaces that weren’t working that they needed to service and “didn’t have time” to do ours. All because Fire & Ice couldn’t take 15 minutes to clean an electrode (and they already had the burner opened up during the service call) we spent a week cold, resetting the boiler over 25 times a day and waking up every two hours at night just to keep the house from freezing, and even then we couldn't get the house much above 50 degrees. Some "working" boiler... We have been long-time supporters of this business, having used them many times in the past and recommending them to everyone. NEVER AGAIN. Because this company could not spend a few minutes doing a very, very, stupidly simple clean of a very important part they left my family cold and $99 down. To note, and show just how bad this company has become, the day after we had them out the boiler was still not working, as it hasn’t been all week, and we called them to express our anger. They have a "30 day guarantee" of their "work." They offered to come out and look at it, but said they would not perform maintenance on it. I suppose they have magic eyes that will fix a boiler just by looking at it. Not performing maintenance during a service call does absolutely nothing to get a boiler running again.

Robert, I’m sorry for all of this confusion, and definitely glad to hear that your heat seems to be working. The last thing we ever want is a customer with no heat in the middle of winter. When you and your wife initially called and said your heat wasn’t working, we prioritized you and got there fast as we could due to the low temps. When our tech showed up for the call on Friday, your boiler was working and he could not reproduce an issue. I know it’s frustrating to have an intermittent issue, especially when you pay for a technician to rush out and the problem doesn’t happen while he’s there. This is why we don’t charge for a follow-up service call within 30 days if the problem pops up again. After we got the voicemail from your wife on Saturday, we offered to send a tech out again that day, without charging you a service fee, to try and diagnose and fix the issue again so your heat was working like you’d expect. Since you wanted us to instead come and do a full tune-up for free that day, we weren’t able to do that. As we suggested, getting on a regular maintenance schedule for your boiler will often prevent emergency issues from cropping up — kind of like getting the oil changed regularly in your car. Since we hadn’t been out to work on your unit for 3 years, we definitely suggest that you set up a regular maintenance schedule going forward.

From our initial experience to the end result, the overall experience was phenomenal! My husband spoke with Carrie on the phone Friday night. she was trying to help us save money by offering us services on Monday to avoid additional costs with overtime rates and such my husband agreed, I called Carrie back and got to speak with her. scheduled an appt for Saturday morning, joined comfort keeper, she let me vent and the whole time she listened and reassured me rather than rushing me off the phone like some business had in the past. This gave me a very soothing feeling about this company. she explained how we would know when our tech was on his way. fast forward to Saturday morning. our tech was James, my husband got a text with a lil background on James and that he was on his way to us. When James arrived, he was very polite and well knowledge, he talked me through what he was doing, he told me he was not able to fix the issue on Saturday and would need to come back. He brought his tablet in and went over different options with me and boy does the 15% from comfort keeper make a difference. We scheduled the service, James came back out with a partner on Monday, we did not have to pay another service fee. James explained so much to me through this whole process. We 100% will be recommending Fire and Ice to our Friends and Family. This company over all is very family-oriented company! Thank you again for all the help!!!

Fire and Ice installed my Bosch heat pump a couple years back and recently the compressor went bad, they were there the same day, ordered the part and left me some space heaters unit the part came in, a week later they came back installed the new part and my heat was up and running. at the end of this they didn't even charge me because it was still under my the warranty, because of my membership. I have and will continue to recommend Fire and Ice to everyone I can.
