Furnace went out while the low temperature was 25 degrees. I called Kemp and the technician was at the house in less than an hour. The part needed was not a common part. He drove 60 miles round trip to get the needed part. After returning he had the furnace running in 30 minutes. The technician was very knowledgeable and personal. It was refreshing to do business with a company that is professional. If you need this type of work this is the company to get.

Quick turn around from supplying a quote on replacing the furnace to completing the installation. The installers were very courteous and made sure we had heat before they left after the first day. The next morning they returned and finished the installation. The area around the furnace was cleaner when they left than it was when they started the install. I would recommend Edward L. Kemp, if you need new equipment or service on existing heating and/or air conditioning equipment give them a call.

Just before the cold really hit this winter (21/22) my furnace failed completely with little warning on a Friday evening. Scheduled appraisals through Lowe’s and HD (because their system was available on a Friday evening). Contacted Kemp on Monday. Techs came from each company on Tuesday and Wednesday and each gave a quote on replacement. Kemp went a step further and offered to contact the furnace manufacturer and let me know that they could probably get most of the necessary parts for FREE. I didn’t go the repair route since temps were expected to drop well below freezing in a few days, the old furnace was close to 30years old, and the repair would still end up running close to a grand with a full days work involved but I very much appreciated the option and honesty. Got quotes from all three with Kemp’s quote having more detail and more options and the total for all the identical furnace options were $500-1500 less than the othern companies. They were always quick to respond, happy to discuss options and pros/cons with me, and went the extra mile to check on exact availability and scheduling for all the options I considered. The lower cost option that I initially picked would have needed ordered and shipped since it was out of stock both locally and regionally but the upgraded variable speed unit was still cheaper (by around $600) than the lower cost options from the other companies so I got the upgraded unit and still saved a good bit. Again they did all the leg work tracking down the options and giving me time frames. Best of all both the other companies needed 1-3 weeks lead time for the actual install while Kemp was able to schedule for the start of the following week! The whole job took two days and the install tech was super polite and did a great job explaining everything he was doing and how to monitor and maintain everything (I told him at the start that this was important to me). The icing on the cake then was that at the end of it all the bill was exactly as quoted with no hassles or BS and every bit of the work is extremely clean and professional looking with great touches like extra clean outs added to my drain line and nicely made plugs so I can blow it out mess free (didn’t even leave metal filings or packaging trash behind). I’ve always been super hesitant to hire companies for jobs like this after seeing seeing and experiencing some real horror stories over the years and I this is one of the first times I’ve felt really 100% satisfied with having spent thousands of dollars on having someone else fix/upgrade something in my house for me! Note 1: It has now been a COLD month or so since the install and everything is working great. I waited to review till I could confirm their work was as good as their salesmanship and first impressions. Note 2: Not a paid reviewer and I was referred to them by a family member after they did similar outstanding work at my grandfather’s house. Note 3: On nice touches I forgot to mention they also figured out part of the problem that ultimately killed the old furnace was likely that the combustion intake/vent pipe openings were very close together so they explained and fixed the issue at no extra charge. This seems like a big deal to me because judging from the life of the old unit they could easily have let it go and no issues would likely have shown up till way past any warranty date and I’d have never known any better except that the tech showed me and explained what he did and why.
