Scam. I had to use this company because AHS insurance only contracted with them in my area. Upon the initial assessment, they told AHS the compressor needs to be replaced, it will cost me $855 for the freon. Then, they called me behind AHS back, told me the whole condenser needs to be replaced, since I have to pay $855 out of my pocket, why not replace the whole unit with them directly at a discounted price. I asked Complete Air Mechanical "if the whole unit needs to be replaced, why didn't you tell my insurance company? instead, you are contacting me directly, is it a conflict of interest?" I refused their offer. On the day of the repair, my tenant and her 19y old son were home, she had to leave for work, but told the tech her son is home. When she returned home, she found out the tech had left and the unit was still not working. I called Complete Air Mechanical, and they told me the unit has been repaired. I said the technician left without demonstrating the unit is repaired to my tenant, how do you determine it is working? They refused to go back and fix the unit, and refused to refund my payment of $855, they said as far as they were concerned, the unit was fixed despite not cooling or heating.
Response from the owner
We did find that the Compressor had failed on the AC System at this rental property. As with any of the home warranty companies, and as advertised on their TV commercials, they will repair the equipment when that cost effective option is available, if not, then they will replace the equipment. It would not be cost effective for a company to replace everyone's system when parts are available at a reasonable cost to repair. AHS and the policy has performed as designed for this homeowner. When homeowners purchase their policies, they are offered a variety of options and upgrades at that time to suit their needs, so the homeowner's non covered costs are a direct result of their choices when purchasing the policy. Being a preferred vendor for AHS, we work very closely with them, and they are aware that a Condenser replacement was offered to this homeowner, this was not done behind their backs. AHS is a great home warranty company, and therefore we value our relationship with them. We do under certain circumstances offer the homeowner to use the repair monies available at that time for that claim to apply towards a replacement. AHS does allow us to provide this as an option. The homeowner did inquire about a cash in lieu of repair with AHS, and she opted to go with the repair, and not a CIL or repair upgrade. Upon return to replace the Compressor, the tenant gave the technician access to the home, and said she had errands to go run and to lockup the house when we were done. At no time was it stated that her son was there, and our tech has reported to us that no one ever came out or made their presence known, so once he completed the job he waited for the temperature to drop, locked up the house and left. The system was functioning properly at that time. The tenant never indicated to the tech that someone was at the home either, otherwise he would have gladly spoken with whom was on-site. This was on Thursday 12/23/21. On Monday 12/27/21 is the first time we heard from the owner that the AC system was not working and her tenants have been without since the repair was done. At that time she got upset and was not so nice, and stated that she didn't even trust us at that point and wanted her money back. Our office personnel advised her that since that is the way she felt we would cancel the recall that they put in and inform AHS that she would like another company out for a 2nd opinion. I made an inquiry into this claim status with AHS earlier today, and I was informed that they sent her work order to another vendor on the 27th, whom went to the home on the 30th. The other vendor reported to AHS that there was no mechanical failure found and that there is a 20 degree temperature difference. This indicates that everything is functioning as it is designed to do.

If I could leave a 0 star I would! This company was hired thru American Home Shield whom we pay to service our home appliance needs. So we trusted they where a legit company. They serviced our unit in January 2022 "diagnosed" our sytem and the conclusion was that we needed to replace our line set which the cost was not covered by American Home Shield $2200 including the refrigerant. If you live in Florida you know it was a cold month for us, so we didn't need to use the ac after they came to "fix" our problem. We did however eventually have to use our heater and to our surprise it wasn't blowing heat. We contacted the company to report the problem and where told that we were passed the 30 days of warranty. The company is here in Florida so they KNOW NO ONE was using their AC at that time of the month but still they refused to have anything to do with the problem. Turns out ALL OF OUR FREON had leaked out! This tells you and I that we clearly got a misdiagnosis because you shouldn't loose any refrigerant after you just repaired what appeared to be the problem. This company does NOT stand behind they're work!! DO NOT HIRE THEM AT ALL COST! unless you have money to burn I suggest you do some research, again they were sent to us thru American Home Shield wich we trusted would know who they employ. Don't throw your hard earned money away and definitely hire an actual professional!
