Want to thank Community Heating & Cooling for coming to the rescue and repairing my granddaughters furnace on a cold and blustery day recently in Keokuk. She has an infant child and getting her furnace repaired as soon as possible was a priority, and this company answered the bell. She had called me early that morning with a few questions about her furnace because I own an HVAC business in Colorado. She wanted my opinion on what I thought may be wrong with her furnace, as well as she had some concerns regarding whether or not she could trust the company she had called (Community Heating & Cooling). The reason for her concern was because she has heard me frequently talk about predatory HVAC companies (there are quite a few in my area) that take advantage of homeowners, particularly women and senior citizens. Based on the answers she provided me about what was going on with her furnace, I was pretty confident the blower motor had failed, and told her that if my over-the-phone diagnosis was correct, what she could expect to pay for a motor replacement. I also told her what signs to look for if the technician was only there to make a sale and take advantage of her. I asked her to call me back and update me, and let me know if anything seemed concerning regarding what she was told. To our relief there was nothing to be concerned about! It was indeed the blower motor that had failed, and the tech from Community Heating & Cooling, Phil, was professional and diligent and was able to repair her furnace in a very timely manner and for a very reasonable price (less than my own company would have charge here in Colorado). He took the time to look at the overall condition of her furnace and did advise her that she may need to consider replacing it in about 5 years or so (which I concur as it is nearing 20 years old). But Phil was not at all pushy he was simply advising her on what to expect going forward. At no time did he recommend any unnecessary repairs or try to use any pushy sales tactics to sell her a new furnace. Based on this experience I would highly recommend Community Heating & Cooling as a company that can be trusted with your home's HVAC system. Mike M. Owner Basset Heating & AC, Inc. Bought our first home last year and have had a few problems with our furnace this year. Phil was our first call. Replaced our control panel and a few weeks later our motor went out which is the night before Thanksgiving. He called me right back and was at our house quickly, replacing it for us. Now our furnace is running great and we should be set! Real nice professional guy who cares about his work and the people in the community. I would recommend him to anyone needing work done.
