For $325.10, invoice 77106, these guy's pretended to try repairing my heat pump. He smashed over some of fins on the inside coil while raking the vacuum head across the fins "cleaning it". After that he connects the gauges and tells me that the inside TXV valve is broken and they can't buy those. So he recommend replacing the whole inside coil (half of the system) or to be sure I should replace the whole system inside and outside coils and pump. After he left, I cleaned more dirt from the coil myself and was able to straighten the smashed fins on the inside coil. I easily found the TXV valve for $110 at three places in town. Knowing I had been lied to about part availability and the bum rush upsell by Cardinal, I called MM Comfort systems. They came out, connected gauges and found no liquid coolant in there. They found a leak at the outside coil, fixed the leak with no parts required and left with the system fully working in two hours. MM Comfort saved me a fortune.

Dear Dana, I apologize your experience with Cardinal was less than satisfactory. We have reviewed the invoice, the service follow-up the technician left, and discussed his findings with him directly. It seems like we may not have communicated our findings and recommendations properly. The technician recommended replacing the indoor coil because the lower portion was clogged, and he could not clean it out properly. He also recommended performing a refrigerant leak check since the system was low on refrigerant. We did not add refrigerant into the system because it’s not legal to add refrigerant into a system with a known leak. The technician made recommendations for repairs that would have brought the system into proper working order and allowed us to provide our repair warranty and stand behind our work confidently. It would not be possible to properly perform the repair the other contractor made within two hours, as you outlined. There are proper procedures to follow to maintain the integrity of the refrigerant system and follow EPA guidelines that would cause that repair to take longer if followed. I’m glad that you are happy with the repair, saved some money, and I hope that the repair holds and is covered by a warranty to ensure long-term operation. All of this is beside the fact that you were not happy with the service call that you paid for, so please call our service manager, James, to discuss further and allow us to make things right. These guys were the right people for the job when it came to my 50 year old boiler/hydronic system with 4 zones. Two plumbers had come out previously to diagnose a zone that would not get heat. Their solution, replace everything for thousands of dollars! Cardinal sent one of their hydronic experts out and he properly diagnosed the issue, air in the system with improper design to allow it to clear, and also our circulation pump was not working. 5 hours of work, a new valve and drain soldered in to the basement zone, and a new circulator pump got our system working like new and all for 1/6th the cost of even the cheapest quote from a plumber. Thanks for doing it right with what we have!

Love this company! We always went through another company but this time we called Cardinal Heating. Reason was that our a/c decided to go on a permanent vacation at the beginning of the heat wave! On a Friday, I called our company and they couldn't schedule us until Monday! We made the appt to "get in line" . I called Cardinal Heating as you were the first company listed. They had someone come to our house that same day! Impressed, I'd say!
