  I was sent a service person within an hour of calling. He was very professional, efficient in finding the issue & repairing it. He even had the part in his van! I was up and running in less than an hour! I recommend this company to be sure!

  If you're looking for someone reasonably priced, call someone else. I called to ask what it would cost to replace an over range hood for my mom. He said he had to come out and look to see what it'd cost. Came out a week later and tried saying it'd cost $320, maybe more because they needed 2 people to do the install and would take 2 hours maybe longer. There is no duct, so it was a matter of screws and wiring. That price seemed outrageous to me so I called Schaeffers and they found it outrageous too, and directed me to someone else. The new quote I got was $75 and would take about 30 minutes. With this drastic difference the impression A W left me with was someone trying to take advantage of an older lady with no experience in this field.

  (To our readers we have not actually worked for this customer before, she is leaving a review based on a "time & material" quote only.) Hi Melissa, I enjoyed meeting with your mother, she is a nice lady. I wish you or she would of called me first with your concerns before leaving a review, I would of happily explained the reason for my pricing. I explained to your mother that since I was quoting removal and installation of a new 30" kitchen hood I felt for safety reasons it was too large for one guy to hold in place, properly secure and wire in the new hood. She did mention it seemed expensive and offered to help hold the hood herself to prevent having 2 employees come out, which I would never ask a homeowner to do, especially an older one. I explained I would bill as "time & materials", 2-4 hours would cover installation and travel time for 2 employees. This installation could of very well moved along quicker and came in at a less cost. I quoted your mother $320.00 or less, not "more". It very well could of came in less. When dealing with a retro fit you never know exactly if the new piece of equipment will line up with the existing wiring and venting. That becomes evident when existing equipment is removed. $75.00 dollars which another company quoted you would barely cover the cost of the permits required by the City of Lincoln when replacing or installing a new kitchen hood vent. We do a lot of kitchen hood installs referred by Schaeffer's and you are the first we know of that is unhappy with our pricing. We are upfront with our customers and potential customers about pricing and will continue to do so.
