Luxury replaced my AC system in 2021 with a new Ruud system. They were timely and honest when the system was delayed and put me on their schedule as soon as they received the equipment. The installation included removing an old system and installing the new one as well as the condensing unit outdoors. The work was accomplished in one day and has operated flawlessly for the last two months. Since it was mid-October, I was only able to use the AC for one day but the heating portion is working well thus far. I look forward to the cooling season to enjoy the AC. The installers were very nice to work with and respectful of my house, cleaning up after themselves. The price paid was very reasonable for the service and equipment provided. Overall, I highly recommend Luxury!

I had LCS to my house to bid a mini-split HVAC system. The employee was confusing to work with. Told me a mini split wouldn't work, and we needed a PTAC (?), but then went on explaining the minisplit. I had to have my wife come into the room to sort out the confusion. To their credit, we got a bid the next day. The bid included a contract that indicated the overall price only. It also stated that I could owe MORE on the back end. Given the ambiguity of the bid, I posed several questions: 1. What is the specific unit being installed? How much does it cost? 2. How much labor is being charged? After several back and forths, I finally figured out the SKU of the model, and asked if that was indeed what was being quoted. THe reply was again vague, and he still wouldn't tell me what I was being charged. Finally he relented and said it was the model, but they would cost more than the amount I found...along with a business 101 lesson (that I didn't need) . Les flatly refused to break down the bid, and kind of belittled me for even asking. I even prefaced one email with, "I know I'm being a pain, but." Maybe $5500 isn't much to most of their customers, but it is to me, and Les didn't seem to respect that. These guys are nuts...see the response below, they continue to misunderstand and refuse to communicate. Of COURSE they need to make more than $100 on a job, but if they won't tell you what model they're installing, you have a problem. Two additional HVAC installers were happy to detail their bids. To be clear, simply trying to find out what I was paying for parts and labor. I'm sure they do a nice job installing products, hence the positive reviews. That said, my spidey sense was correct. I ended up going elsewhere, getting a better unit, and saving over $1000.

Mr. Meyer, Thanks for the feedback on this matter. Unfortunately Mr. Meyer, I will agree with my employee on his response. Sounds like he did everything in a timely manner and was able to answer some questions for you on the types of units we install. My employee did show me the email chain which you had sent and unfortunately we aren't the type of company that will display our overhead, mark ups, material cost, equipment cost, labor cost, profit margins, years of experience, trade tools, on all of our proposals. We came out and proposed our install and gave an overall price in which you asked for a complete breakout after you looked up what the equipment cost online and asked why we are so high in cost compared to the internet. This is the email you sent us ( I know I'm being difficult, but the bid frustrates me because it isn't transparent. I don't know how much you're marking it up...I understand that businesses mark up products, but a heat pump is a heat pump, especially if it has the same model number and sku. If I'm paying $100 extra, fine, but if it is $500 more, that's a different story.) We do not negotiate prices nor expect to get every job. I just don't think we are the right fit for your project, Mr. Meyer, if you expect us to only make a $100 profit and keep a business going. You also stated that our quote said "I could owe more on the back end". Nowhere in the proposal does it say that and it is something completely made up - the proposal states the ACCEPTANCE OF THE PROPOSAL please sign and send back. That's not a contract sir, simply giving us the "GO" on the project. We do understand that $5500 is a lot of money and it is always best to get several quotes for you to make the best decision possible but you can't expect contractors to show you what they make on every job. I hope you find the right contractor for your project and have a great rest of the year. Best regards. Update: We are glad that you found someone to take care of you Mr. Meyer. Hopefully you will take the time to write them a five star review . As far as our comments, the only thing we see odd about it is your response that we copied and pasted to my employee.
