My 24 year old AC system was showing it's age, needing yearly maintenance with refrigerant refills and high power usage. Although my gas furnaces were working fine and I really don't use the AC or heating more than about 3 months each throughout the year, I have noticed the trend of using more AC with climate change and warmer temps. I contacted over 7 HVAC companies that had 4.5 star or better ratings on Yelp. Five of those contacted me for a visit for a free estimate. This was only the start of the process. Over two weeks, I had reps visit and give me their recommendations. Initially, I inquired about a simple AC system replacement, but most companies would not consider installing a new AC system with an older furnace. It certainly could be done, but then there were warranty and reliability issues to consider. I decided to go ahead and have both the AC and furnaces replaced (2 full systems, 1 for the first floor, 1 for the 2nd floor). The next consideration were the possible options of a heat pump, multiple speed, etc. As it's never clear what the incremental price of these upgrades would be, I wanted to find out. This meant that I would ask all five of the vendors who provided initial quotes for more quotes and recommendations for these options. When it came down to the nitty gritty, only two companies seemed to want to spend the time to continue the dialog and provide additional price quotes. Toby from AIS was very patient and spent the time to explain every aspect of his quotes and if he did not know the answer to any of my numerous questions, he would get the answers from his team at AIS. I choose AIS because of Toby's honesty and integrity. He even modified the wording on the contract to add some technical terms and work that I felt were missing and he did this before I made my decision. The AIS contract and terms were by far the most complete and comprehensive of all the proposals that I evaluated and I felt very comfortable with the whole situation. I decided on a mid level Bryant system with a high efficiency rating and the price was among the lowest of the proposals that I received. I signed the contract and paid my deposit. Work was schedule just a few weeks later. Garrett and Dylan were my main technicians to do the job in early July. Although they scheduled 2 days for the job, they were hopeful that the entire job could be completed in one. During the day, up to three more technicians stopped by to deliver parts or help in some phases of the job. Toby also stopped by to drop off some equipment and check on the job. I am a DIY person who does a lot of my own work on my house, electrical, plumbing, minor construction, etc. I have very high standards for workmanship and professionalism as my previous career also involved monitoring commercial installation contracts for telecommunications. These guys were excellent. Their workmanship shows in the photos. At the end of the day, they did a very nice cleanup of all work areas and we did a complete walk through and test of the system. About two weeks after the installation, AIS had scheduled a quality inspection walk through. Javier was the QA person who met with Garrett and together, we walked through the entire installation. Javier had Garrett do some very small corrections in taping some of the old flue piping just to insure maximum sealing, even through this was technically part of the old installation. Although the weather has not been super hot, I have been exercising the AC system on a daily basis and everything is working great. The AC is about 1/3 more energy efficient that the old system (when it worked). I am very happy with the entire process and the finished product. I have been doing lots of home improvement/maintenance projects in the past two years and I can honestly say that this is about as good as it gets when dealing with a specialty contractor. I highly recommend this company!

Company and technician are responsive and professional. Technician was very informative and explained each step of the process and went into as much detail as I wanted. Told me the results of the inspection of my AC unit and provided suggestions/options on what I could do to prevent future failure of my already aging system. Technician did not pressure me into any high cost fixes that were unnecessary and also did not try to get me to replace the entire system (since he thinks I should still have a few years left on this current system). I have also used AIS Heating & Air Conditioning to replace a furnace and repair ducting in another home, and they did a great job.

I didn’t use their service because the issue I called about was regarding a unit just installed by another contractor and Mark explained everything they did wrong, what needed to be done and why they couldn’t touch it. I will pursue the options he left me with and if this unit isn’t corrected I will get it removed and have this company install a new one. Mark has offered to let me call him when needed to advise me as needed. He didn’t need to do all that he did but I am truly thankful that he gave me that time. I wish all companies had people like Mark
