We were a little disappointed with our stay here.
We passed by this place upon our arrival. Outside lighting was very poor. Glad I keep a flashlight in my car.
The fireplace was underwhelming as seen in the picture it was electric candles.
The lights for the bathroom were outside the door.
My husband was trying to turn room lights off/on an mistakenly turning them off in the bathroom.
Thin walls I could hear people next to us talking.
No guide for the television.
Housekeeping was contacted by text which was ok & they did respond.
Bed was comfortable. The building appears to need some upkeep, broken bricks & crumbling cement sidewalks. Door to our shared area had a broken lock.
Made us question safety. Although our door did lock.
I feel we could have been just as comfortable in an area lodge and maybe felt a bit more safe.

Could be really great. Lots of issues with water when we went. Leaking bathroom sing. Water dripping from bathroom fan onto toilet. Changed rooms and water wouldnt maintaine temperature. No water pressure at all. The maintenance man Fred was super nice and would be the reason we would ever return.

I remember when this hotel was the Abbey Inn. We stayed our first night of our honey moon back before it was bought out and had an amazing stay. Now, they require a two night minimum stay and have gone down hill.

Overall not bad... booking was easy, however changing dates was not. Called to speak with someone but no one on property and no call back.

Room was nice overall, little lacking on privacy as bed was right next to door. But they have other rooms where don think an issue. AC had issues keeping up, but might have been from hot tub humidity. Water pressure was not good in sink or shower and took 5+ mins to warm up

Location was good and never seen or dealt with anyone (other guest or staff)

Beautiful views, and very nice accommodations. Don't expect internet to work out there, but cable TV was fine, and I loved being able to walk in to the room without checking in. I love it.

The grounds were beautiful, and it looked like a good place for a destination wedding.  The entire party could stay in a beautiful, wooded setting.  There was room for around 40 people for a close inside wedding, and around 60 people for a lakeside wedding on a pretty beach.  That said, we used it as a "hotel" room and feel like we significantly overpaid.  It had a hot tub in the room, but it was just dropped right beside the bed.  There was minimal storage for clothing, so we had bags and clothes on the chair and laying in the corner.  Towels were very small.  Also, when we got there, the room was frigid because the heater had an error.  We reported it and were told to use the electric fireplace instead.  They didn't fix it while we were there (3 days).

Wonderful hidden gem for couples getaway. The room was clean, modern and private!

Smaller-than-expected the place needs some updating hot tub jets are very weak the toilet was leaking no water pressure in shower Plus black bugs of some sort coming out of cracks in the crown molding on ceiling they have it listed that it has a kitchenette it does not have that.

Lovely place to escape with your partner for a romantic getaway. It is private and nestled among the trees. There is a pond and several areas to relax and enjoy the tranquility. The suite was very spacious and exceptionally well appointed. The location was perfect! Only minutes from restaurants,  shopping and state parks. My fiance and I will certainly visit again.

**PLEASE READ! If you are planning a wedding of any size, then this review is for you.** I did not have expectations that were over the moon when planning my wedding. We wanted a small quaint ceremony in a beautiful place, so we thought The Yellowwood would be perfect. WRONG. Every associate that I came into contact with during the wedding planning process was rude. It was impossible to call the venue and speak to someone “on-site.” Each time I called, the employee stated that she was not on the property and directed me to email the address given to me. Email responses were always very late which led to a lot of unanswered questions and horrible communication. The ceremony that they claim to plan for you for a “stress free experience” was EXTREMELY unorganized, unthoughtful, and an overall mess. The planners are very nonchalant and don’t pay attention to the details that matter.

You will not be given any time to set up your own aisle decorations, and the ones promised are actually tiny brown bows that tie around the benches. They should not even be mentioned in the package description because they look very worn and sad. My bouquet was tiny and my husband did not receive his boutonnière. The guestbook was likely from the Dollar Tree. The Bridal Suite is not a suite to get ready for the bride and her party as one may assume. It is actually a tiny closet to hide in for maybe 5 minutes before the wedding actually begins. If any of your guests pull into the parking lot before the time slot that you are given, you will be fined $250 per the contract that they make you sign.

I tried to look past all of those things and simply enjoy our very special day, BUT WORST OF ALL, my now husband and I paid for the photography package. Venus Leah, the photographer, wore a hot pink spandex jacket and yoga pants while taking photos of our wedding. She was in the middle of the aisle capturing pictures of our flower girl and bridal party, and it was EXTREMELY distracting. I was so shocked and disappointed that she would think such attire would be appropriate in a wedding. Her demeanor was off putting to ALL guests. She was hasty, rude, and she seemed as though she did not want to be there. Several of our guests made comments about her attitude and asked why we hired her all evening. I could not believe that she was the photographer that such a nice place would hire. It made The Yellowwood look like a joke. It was now been over a month and a half, and we still have not received a single photo. We have emailed The Yellowwood for her contact information and have even tried calling and have not had a single response!!

This has been a tremendous waste of time, energy and money!! Their lack of communication and professionalism has me completely baffled. DO NOT MAKE THE MISTAKE OF BOOKING HERE. We did not receive anything of quality from the Elderberry and Photography packages. Overall, I am beyond sad that such a special day of my life was made to feel so rushed and unimportant. They should be very ashamed
