My husband and I adopted a kitten and were told that they would set up the spay when she was old enough. The time came and they wouldn't answer the phone or return our calls. We had her spayed and paid for it and they refused to acknowledge us or their contract.
Response from the owner
Hello Geneva, I am sorry you had a bad experience. The staff that was here at that time is no longer with us. Unfortunately, I can't find you in our database. Could you have adopted under another name? I would be happy to reimburse you our current policy of $110.00 for a spay/neuter. Did you put down a $100.00 deposit? If so, you need to get that back. My personal cell is 218-43-3941, please give me a call so we can get this right. Thanks! Julie, Director of Operations, WCHS

Rather than Sheila giving me a courtesy call to save the 1 1/2 hour drive and leaving work early, which I advised her of when making the appointment, she told me after I arrived that another person placed a hold on the pup. When I mentioned I just drove an hour and a half the response was.. “well, you didn’t place a hold”. Well, I am not ok with placing $50 for a pup that only has a photo, has no info, no health check and wasn’t even at the facility when I made the appointment especially if it is nonrefundable regardless of the outcome. I will take my business elsewhere. Clearly animal interest/match is not priority, just what money they can bring in.

Good afternoon Jeandrea, I am sorry that you did not have a good experience with WCHS a few weeks ago. Sheila does the best she can, but when we get in puppies, as I am sure you can appreciate, it gets nuts with holds, appointments, walk-ins, etc. That said, it is not excuse for your long drive and going home without a puppy. We have gotten in a number of new puppies that are just adorable. I am happy to place a complementary "hold" if you see a puppy you like at no cost to you. If you would like to chat more about your experience and how I can make it right, please call my personal cell @ 218-443-3941. Julie, Director of Operations, WCHS
