They said they "are too busy to investigate" (direct quote) a vehicle theft. Even attempting to check for fingerprints on a recovered stolen truck is way too much work for them. So good luck, since "protect and serve" doesn't mean the same thing to them. Maybe if they investigated a crime, they'd be able to make an arrest and reduce crime, but that's way too much work for them to consider.
