Final edit: It took longer than I'd have hoped, but they did pay for the damages. I appreciated them standing behind their work, although it doesn't entirely make up for the aggravation they caused. Edit 6/16/20: I did hear back from the company today - they've agreed to cover the damage without argument. I appreciate that they stand by their service, and I'm updating the review for now. I'll revisit it again once the issue is resolved. As a service contract holder, I have historically been quite a strong proponent of UGI. However, my recent experience with the company hasn't been great. The last guy who came out to fix a problem we had took a lot longer to get in contact than he said he would, then told me that there was an additional fix he had to make that would head off future problems. At the time I was grateful for the consideration and forethought, but then subsequently it appears that he made a mistake that resulted in water pouring down through my daughter's ceiling a couple of weeks later. I'm sure it wasn't intentional, but obviously it's upsetting to suddenly discover a dirty waterfall in your child's bedroom. More annoyingly, when I called UGI to get help with my ongoing problem, it took half a dozen phone calls and a full day to get someone to show up to fix it - and I'm still waiting to hear back about the damage to my house. The person I spoke to on the phone yesterday promised that a manager would call me yesterday. They didn't. I just got off the phone with them again - they made the same promise. We'll see. It's possible that UGI will turn this experience around... but it's not looking good right now.

Good evening. The management team did discuss this earlier today, and I see the Jim was on sight to work with you. We fully plan to make this right, and appreciate your understanding on this matter. We look forward to making you a happy customer once again. Please don't hesitate to reach back out to Jim with any further concerns.

In 2019 I reviewed this company and gave them 5 stars. Since that time, I believe that they have outsourced their service. Our experience this past winter was not so positive. There was a problem with our heating system and three different service people were here three different times and were unable to figure out the problem. Only after it stopped working completely (in the middle of winter) was the problem diagnosed. We had one of their salesmen out to give us an estimate on a new system. He emailed us a quote which was not accurate either in work required or price as he admitted when asked. We ended up using H.B.McClure and could not have been happier with them. I could not find a way to remove my review from 2019 and hope that no one will base any current decision on that review.

We’ve had a service contract with UGI since last October. We notified them in June that our tankless water heater kept shutting off and showing in error code. It has been four months and five different employees and they still have not been able to fix it. Every time I call into to report the issue, they always tell me it’s going to be a day or two for someone to come out, even though I have a contract and no hot water. I recently learned that UGI HVAC is no longer a local company served by local representatives and not even part of UGI. They are a third-party contractor based out of state. They bought the rights to use the UGI name. They’re essentially a home warranty service. Somewhat like buying an extended warranty for your TV which never works out. Don’t use this company at any cost. You’ll be sorry if you do. Find a local company that provides local service contracts and don’t utilize any third-party contractors from out of state. They’re all about saving and making money.
