On a hot summer day my AC capacitor gave up. Online store sold for $16 a piece. Not willing to wait for delivery, I went to this store. Their price was $48 a piece, 3x as online price. I was also told that once I take it out of the store, there would be absolutely no refund and no exchange. Not impressed by neither the price nor the return policy, I walked away from this store. I bought my capacitor from another local store for $23 a piece.

Hello Donald, I’m sorry for your negative experience with us. Please understand that Transtar, as an HVAC wholesaler, employs an operational mission to both support and sell to licensed HVAC contractors. Occasionally, we sell small items that do not require a license to the public to support our DIY community. That being said, the prices for those items are going to be higher to unlicensed customers than they would be for our licensed contractors. Online retailers may not have the same operational to support their licensed HVAC contractors like we do. Best of luck with your HVAC project and we are always here if you need us. - Bryan

Absolutely I will never come here again. Customer service was very bad. Prices are so high. I am a hvac contractor coming for a run capacitor which they charged over $16 while it costs about half of it at somewhere else. I said I am a contractor that I should have the contractor price. They said that is the price for contractor. Bull….*#!?

We do offer competitive market pricing for our HVAC contractors but require proof of your license at the time of purchase to receive contractor pricing. If you bring in your HVAC license and EPA certification to any of our stores we can open an account for you so that this misunderstanding does not happen again. Can I enter a negative star? I stopped in Saturday, December 7th, 2019 at noon, requesting assistance in getting a filter for a Honeywell dehumidifier. The only thing the guy at the front desk ever said to me was "No". I showed him pictures of my unit and asked him if he could tell me if it was a dehumidifier - "No". I asked if he carried dehumidifier filters - "No". I asked if he could tell me anything - "No". I asked if anyone there could help me - "No". Due to this experience, I cannot recommend this placed at all.
