I paid $11,282.50 on a new Rinnai heater for my home in 2018. For the last week this system has not been working allowing us to not heat our home (still not working). Tower energy has been notified and they told me that they do not service these systems anymore. Tower Energy then gave me a number to a company that does not work on these systems. When I contacted other companies from the rinnai website they told me they cannot fix my issue because they did not install the system or they were located to far from my home. Tower energy installed this system in 2018 and I chose to do buisness with them thinking they were a reliable company which they are not. In winter months we have called multiple times telling them our tanks are empty (0 percent on both tanks) even though we are set up for automatic deliveries. If I knew that Tower Energy was this bad back in 2018 I would never have done business with them. I still have no heat with no one to help out not even the company who installed this system for $11,000 Thank you Tower Energy!

On Christmas Evening, moments after the last guest left, my furnance blew in spectacular fashion. Smoke, water and fire consumed maintainance room. By the end of night family was in a hotel. The following morning Tower Energy had contacted me several times, by 11AM the day after Christmas, there was a technician at my home. They understood the stress my family was in and provided a quote in 45 minutes. The following morning 12/27/2019 a fleet of trucks were in my driveway. The entire maintenance room was gutted and cleaned by them. They designed and installed a new heating and hot water system, going far above my expectations. The team worked tireless for nearly 12 hours and had system up and running that night. My family and I are grateful to Tower Energy for getting us back in our home so soon, without charging us a premium under the circumstances. Thank You, The McGraw Family.

To be clear, this is a review of Tower Energy after NOT using their services. Read on and you’ll understand why. I recently had their rep (Rick) come to my home to give me a quote to have a ductless AC split unit installed in bonus room above our garage. The room is approximately 500sq.ft, with a maximum ceiling height of 7ft in the middle but a severely sloped ceiling front and back. Basically, from all my online research, it was clear I needed an AC of no more than 12k BTUs. Looking at prices, the whole system (air handler & compressor) would max-out at about $1200. There were off-brands that sold for less, but I was looking for a decent brand. Also, because there used to be a “through the wall” ancient AC installed in that room, there was already a dedicated 20amp circuit for the new unit. The room also has its own heat zone so I really didn’t care about the heat pump function even though the majority of the splits come as such. Well after getting his measurements, Rick said he’d have an estimate back to me, probably the next day but no more than 48hrs later. A WEEK went by and finally I called him and left a message. He got back to me the next day to say they’d gotten really busy, apologized for the delay and promised something the next day. Sure enough the estimate arrived via email: $7000. The breakdown was as follows: PARTS $4879 Labor and electrical $2268 permit $260 Tax $310. Rick further went on to add: “That space requires a 18,000 BTU system to comply with building code as per our heat loss/gain calculation.” I told him (via email) that I’d seen the EXACT model of the unit he had listed selling for $1700 MAX, and asked for an itemized breakdown of the parts (Never mind the 18K BTU which was WAY more club than needed), wondering what the additional $3100 was for. A few days later Rick replied via email: “The parts, labor, tax, fees breakdown I already sent to you is as detailed as possible. We are not able to itemize each item.” Yep, that’s right, they were “unable to itemize “. Seriously? I was to just accept that the mysterious $3100 was a necessary cost? No thanks. I had another estimate from a different company come back at half the Tower Energy estimate and yes, for a 12K BTU split unit that was more than enough fire-power for that room (according to THEIR tech). They also had no problem specifically itemizing their estimate. Bottom line: examine the bottom line if you choose to use this company. Buyer beware.
