I called Todds to come look at my heater motor in my new home and Mandy was the one who answered. They came over and seemed friendly. I seen what the mark up on parts she wanted to charge me and was told by Mandy that the charge was barely over cost $340 on parts and then when I cancelled the order and she wanted to charge me shipping cost when I cancelled in about an hour. I asked her for shipping receipt which irritated her and she called me and said She had only paid $224 for blower and motor . She said I only charged you 50% mark up and could of charged the normal 100%. She was rude but Todd seemed nice and knowledgable. Its too bad he has to have her running his business! I bought same part online for $227
Response from the owner
Anthony, Thank you for your feedback! Your feedback is valuable to us and helps us to be a better company. Without feedback and yes, criticism we would become stagnant. I apologize if I came across as rude, that was not my intent. I appreciate the chance to clarify my end and see if we can at the very least agree to disagree. Todd diagnosed your furnace and found some components were dirty, he also noted that the purge fan motor was weak/noisy and needed replaced. This was between 1:30pm and 1:45pm Monday October 4, 2021. The initial trouble call was received at 12:53pm. We did not charge you, as we were planning to return and complete the job. To be clear it is $100 for the initial call, this includes a service fee of $20 and the first hour @$80hr. I received notice the following morning, at 8:20 that the motor was available at the warehouse. I texted Mr. Canady at 8:23 am," Tony, found the inducer motor I can have it by end of day or tomorrow (I knew I needed to have it ordered before 9am to get it early day and I was not guaranteed to reach you in time)and it is your cost $340 let me know as soon as you can and I will get it coming to me. Labor will be $140. $480 total" @8:25am The reply was, "Ok will see you tomorrow"@8:26 I answered, "Got it I will get it ordered" @8:36, "Thanks" I ordered the part at 8:27am @9:56 am You, Mr. Canady, called and cancelled the order because you were able to find it online for less than I was able to offer it. This is frustrating and I am sorry that I allowed that to color the experience. As a small business technology is a double edged sword. Often, I cannot even get parts from my warehouse for the amount consumer can get it on online. As a contractor I get a wholesale cost, unfortunately so do many others and that makes it impossible to compete. I also have other expenses such as training, tools, licensing, insurance, the list goes on and it is not necessary to regale you of all the details. I was honest when I told you that I only marked it up 50%, that is a pretty low number for replacement parts. We really enjoyed meeting you and I tried to acknowledge that through a labor break since I was capped on the cost of the part. I also did not charge you the 20% restocking fee that I will be paying to my warehouse. I immediately reached out and discovered that not only had I been successful in getting it out early but it had already arrived at the shop.@10:41 am I received a text, "Can you please send me a copy of my shipping receipt with part# when you send bill? Thanks Tony" I waited to call you, I wanted to be professional. I called you back at 3:57 pm. I explained to you that I had only one receipt. The shipping charge is from a company called Gopher Express and they bill the warehouse who then includes that on the invoice for the contractor. I would be unable to separate that out and keep my information confidential. The delivery company would also not have knowledge nor record of the part#, they get a box to deliver. I wanted to explain this and remain unemotional, I did not succeed. I am sorry about that. This is our lifeblood. I do not think that I owe you an apology for marking a part up, that is common and expected, nor for quickly ordering your part so that you were not inconvenienced any more then necessary. I do not think that It is out of line for me to ask for the shipping charge on this part. You may have even noticed that I had not even included the $28 I paid to get it so quickly into your final cost. I tried to be fair and I reacted badly, this reaction I will apologize for. I behaved in a way that cast shade on the business my husband I have fought for. I am sorry Mr. Canady. Thank you for this chance to become better.

Todd and Mandy have always been seriously so amazing with my family they genuinely really care about their community. The first time I turned my heat on this year it wasn’t blowing out warm air. I called late at night and they were here with in just a few minutes to check it out. Todd got it all cleaned up and going right. Todd let me know my furnace was really old and he wasn’t sure how long it was going to last. Last week my carbon monoxide detector was going off and we had to call the gas company. They got here and said the furnace was leaking gas and he Red flagged me. I called Mandy and they were here again with in minutes. Todd let me know it was not fixable and said they would see what they could do. Literally with in minutes his wife Mandy called me and let me know she had found a furnace and it would be here Tuesday and they would get it put in. They are the most caring people I’ve ever met with in just a few days my house is nice and toasty again. I would highly recommend Todd to anyone. Todd and his crew are seriously amazing people. Thank you so much Todd and Mandy!!
