  St. Bernard State Park was one of two locations that I stopped with a 13' travel trailer during a trip to New Orleans. It was about a 30 minute-1 hour drive to various parts of town. The area was quiet, fairly well spread out, clean, and safe. The park is laid out as two loops. The showers had wonderfully hot water. The best part, however, was the staff. Though I went during the holiday season, I was called beforehand to acquaint myself with the park, I had my own map with added instructions waiting for me, and everyone I talked to was kind and helpful. I felt very welcomed during my stay. I also work online, so I can let people know that at&t tower signal is good enough for video conferencing, though I would perhaps not use the wifi at the park. For some reason, it made me experience connectivity issues, even with things like calls, that was a bit frustrating. If possible, just stick to cellular (the only negative I have for the experience, which could just be something that happened to me). All in all, I would definitely stay here again. (Weather in December was perfect : 60-75 the entire time)

  What a beautiful surprise just a few minutes south of the city. If you’re visiting New Orleans and you want some authentic deep South feel come take a walk around this park. Great walking trails. Great camping. Clean and safe. Check out picnic island. Love it here!!!

  We paid about $22 a site for water and electric hook ups at St. Bernard State Park. There was a dump station on site that we used and it worked just fine. The sites were decently spread out. There are about 50 sites on the property most seemed to be able to accommodate rigs 35 feet+. The bathhouse was a good size and quite clean. The showers had good water pressure and got hot. If you go later in the morning after many people though the hot water may run out. Overall, this was a well laid out park at a super reasonable price. Do be aware that this is the swamp area, so it is swampy! It is very wet in general.
