  Brother-in-law hired this company to replace his central air conditioning and heating unit. After they installed the system, no heat. Took four visits to get heat working. After technicians left, whole house smelled of propane gas. Called their office, they sent out a technician, who wasn't licensed to work on gas side of unit. His advice, call a plumber. Licensed plumber found gas installation not up to code and a loose supply line which caused a major gas leak. Who does work like this and walks away from it? I'll be surprised if they are in business a year or two from now.

  Terrible experiance with this company. From my experiance they do shotty work and upsale everything. 1st visit they checked the system and signed me up for a monthly payment to reduce service call and repair cost. System got a good bill of health. 2nd visit the fan motor went out which was legitament. Even though I was a monthly paying customer the $150 fan cost me more than $350 to change out. 3rd visit the fan blades on the motor fell off due to the tech not tightening the set screw correctly. Fan blades were damaged so had to be replaced. This cost me another $300 or so even though I was a monthly paying customer and the cause of the problem was shotty work from the tech. 4th visit system froze up. Tech came out and told me it was just a little low on Freon. Never told me about a leak or anything just told me it happens sometimes. Said he added some and it cost more than $150. 5th visit. Air isnt cold again. Tech came out said that the last tech had found a leak in system. I was never told about a leak. Said what I needed was a new system. It cost $8000++ basically refused to check anything even though I told him I couldn't afford that atm. I asked the guy if he would check it several times. Still just told me it was nothing he could do about it because it was a leak and would cost me $3000 to fix it. Well I was fed up and called a family friend to come check behind them. The family friend fixed the whole thing with a $12 part. He also checked the whole system for leaks and none were found the Freon levels were full. I will never use this place again. I urge anyone to use someone else until they can get honest people working at Southern air. Right now I feel the owe my family quite a bit of money that I am sure wont be seen again.
