SEARS CON MEN LIED TO PRESSURE ME INTO A SALE. Battle Creek, MI I trusted sears to send out honest technicians to help solve my problem. I’m 8 months pregnant and my central air stopped working. Two technicians came out and after a very brief, mostly hands off approach to check my problem out, they were quick to tell be that it was my blower and they could fix it but it would be $1,800 and it would be silly to invest that much money into an old furnace. (My central air is hooked into the furnace). Before long I realized that I had a couple of car salesmen in my home. It took them less than 30 minutes to diagnose my problem but they stuck around for almost two hours, trying to pressure me into ordering a $4,000 furnace. Half way thru this encounter I started cooking dinner for my kids and they continued with the sales pressure, stories and attempts to pre order a system under the promise that “we can order it now and if you find a better price from a different company, we will match it”. Well what if I just want to fix the blower? Anyways, these tactics got old, I had to get stern and tell them not to pre order. Two Days later I have Sims Heating and Cooling come out and they fix my blower with a $130 blower motor and $150 for labor. Sears SALESMAN WERE BLATANT LIARS AND CON MEN. They tried to scare me into debt with an estimate of $1800, and Sims fixed it for less than $300. BEWARE SEARS SALESMEN. ROTTEN COMPANY. They didn’t have the decency to help a mother of 2 who is 8 months pregnant. They could see that the 85 degree day was hurting us and they didn’t have the decency or integrity to fix out problem honestly and quickly. If I could give a Zero Star rating I would have.
