The technician was fine. Your scheduling is an absolute nightmare. I will never call Sears for appliance repair ever again. When you schedule an appointment and the best estimate of time you can give is 8:00am-5:00pm, it's ridiculous. Basically you put someone on house arrest for the entire day waiting for the technician to arrive. At least tell them morning or afternoon, for God's sake. Then, it took four different days of this to finally get my dryer repaired. The first visit, the technician didn't have the parts (rollers for a dryer), so had to order them and schedule another visit. Fine. That morning comes and according to the website the estimated time of arrival was 1:57pm. Waited all day and no one showed up. Contacted customer service and they tell me "technician unavailable"; have to reschedule. An entire day down the drain. The only appointment they have available in the next two weeks is a Monday. I had to make arrangements to take off work. A couple days before the appointment, after I've already made all the arrangements to be absent from work, I get a text saying the appointment has been rescheduled. Ugh. Another day of being on house arrest waiting for someone to arrive. This is all for a repair that took less than 30 minutes to complete. Finally, how do you get away with charging the rates you do? You charged $259 in labor for a job that took less than 30 minutes. So, over $500 per hour. I could have hired a brain surgeon to do the work for cheaper. I should have ordered the parts and done the work myself. After all of the time and money I put into this simple repair, I could have bought two brand new, top-of-the-line dryers for less. At this point, you owe ME money, not the other way around. Never again, Sears. Never, again. I will tell everyone I know to avoid your company like the plague.

The first words out of the repairman's mouth were do want this fixed or do you want to buy a new one. Why would we (my wife) call a repair service if we would rather buy a new one. He showed more interest talking on his phone then wanting to fix the problem, he knew the error message on the Maytag washer meant a new control board, but less than 5 minutes into the job told me he could not find a serial number for the machine and could do no more work, except bill me $99. Our matching dryer was repaired 3 years ago by another service with no serial number nonsense. He figured grab the quick $99 rather than do his job, especially since it was getting very close to lunch time. Not surprised that Sears is no longer in business. I expect a similar fate for their repair service.
