Arrived exactly to the minute as appointed. Basically mechanically rebuilt our Kenmore dryer with new parts and a lint cleaning. Hoping this spend will last another 10 years. Dryer is a 2003, still works fine. Made back when they were less computerized.

My husband had to take an entire day off of work, in order to be there "Between 8 and 5". The repairman showed up at 530. The work order was for the ice maker on my refrigerator. The service man that came was not able to work on refrigerators, due to not being certified for them. He was kind enough to make a work order for the dishwasher while he was here, and fixed that. As for the original work order... the part arrived a few days ago, and now I am the one who has to take an entire day off of work to be here for the repairman. Not only did I pay $500 for the protection plan, but now I am losing money by not being at work. This is absolutely ridiculous. Even the cable man can give you a 2 hour window. Once these service plans have expired, I do not believe I will return to Sears for additional appliances.

All in all my stove was fixed but it was a bit inconvenient as I could not narrow down the arrival time to less than 8 hours. My appointment was scheduled between 8:00 and 5:00. The technician finally came at 1:30 so it would have been nice to have narrowed that down to 12:00 and 5:00 and I could have made better use of my morning. In the end I also found the overall cost to be very expensive. Almost $300 for a new oven ignition sensor. I knew their was a service call fee of $99.00 but I was hoping that that would be rolled into the repair. But it was tacked on to the parts and labor. I was offered a service plan that would have cut that in half but the service plan was $600 per year. I could buy a new stove for THAT price! In the end you are at the mercy of the repair service so " you gotta do what you gotta do". My stove is fixed but I'm not sure I will do that again. I'll just go buy a new stove. Which is probably part of the plan......"Just my opinion of course" :-)
