After trying everything I could comfortably do to repair my refrigerator myself, I called Sears Appliance Repair. Technician checked the same things that I had already done and determined that it was the main board and ordered the part and scheduled to come back out in 2 weeks. It's been 2 weeks, part has not been shipped so no repair. When I was finally able to reach a real person, I was told that part was on backorder and that their warehouse would ship it as soon as they could get it. Not sure why its on back order when I literally put the part number in Amazon and could have it in 2 days. I will never use this service again. Update: The very next day after talking with them about backordered part I got an email that my part was on the way. When I got it the next day I called to schedule someone to come back out to install part. Was told it was going to be another 2 weeks before someone could come out. At this point family was without a refrigerator for 3 weeks (luckily we had an old one in the garage so we didn't lose all of our food). I couldn't wait another 2 weeks so I looked up on YouTube how to install it (video was the same model of refrigerator too). Took less then 15mins to install, refrigerator is back up and working perfectly. Called and canceled my appointment and got a refund of some of the money I had all ready paid. Will not be using them again.

Had I known the utter lack of warranty support I'd get for my $3,000 oven and extended warranty, I'd have opted instead for a fire pit out back, because that would have at least worked. My service call has been in for seven weeks now but all I keep getting from the repair service is that the part is on back order. Funny thing - I can find that very part on SearsPartsDirect.com and have it delivered in 3-5 days! Calls to Sears Home Service might as well be going to Mars for all the help they don't provide. To date I've mad 27 calls trying to get someone that can help me, and to date - NOTHING!

I’m giving 5 stars here because the service was fast, professional, friendly….you name it. I just couldn’t have asked for better service. However, I am forgiving the lady I spoke with on the phone to set this service up. My ice maker had stopped making ice and the lady insisted that the problem was the water filter. I explained that the filter was NOT the problem. I had excellent water pressure at the water dispenser and the filter was not quite 6 months old. She said that they were only good for 3 to 6 months (I don’t remember seeing the 3-month number anywhere). The fridge is under warranty, but the only way she would set up the service call was if I would agree to pay for the call if the technician had to replace the filter. This was after a lengthy, somewhat heated discussion. I finally agreed to pay if the filter was the problem. In the end, the service was great and I now have ice for my bourbon…happy days again. BTW, the filter was NOT the problem!
