  THIS IS A HORRIBLE SERVICE - DO NOT USE SEARS KENMORE IN THE ARLINGTON/FALLS CHURCH AREA. After repeated calls through one of the least user-friendly service algorithms we have ever encountered, we were finally able an appointment for a repair. The service representative misrepresented costs and warranty coverage - they assured us that the compressor which had failed catastrophically and caused massive damage in our home was under warranty and would be replaced at no cost to us. The technician then arrived after keeping us waiting for five hours and informed us - without ever looking at or even touching the refrigerator - that the repair would cost at least $800-$900 in labor and mysterious other parts. We had already cross-checked costs with another appliance repair company (one with much better reviews than these guys) who estimated that the labor job would be under $300. The only reason we dealt with Kenmore at all was their service people assured that, since the compressor was under warranty, it would be fixed for very little cost. The company promptly reneged on this commitment after wasting our whole day and showing up late. The incompetence, dishonesty, and arrogance of this company and this repair staff are basically shocking. There is clearly a reason that this once-proud brand is going bankrupt. They don't stand behind their products, their service is incompetent and dishonest, and they make lame excuses rather than do their jobs. We will never use Kenmore in any capacity - you should not either.

  Technician missed four scheduled appointments. I did not receive notification the technician would not be coming. Customer service would not comment on schedule until the after the service window ended. By the time a technician finally came for repairs, the warranty had expired and I lost replacement benefits. Repairs were finished two months after I requested service. I’ve taken off six days for this repair. Lost wages would have more than covered a brand new appliance.

  Signed up for warranty service after being told initial service call (scheduled for following day) would be covered. When tech arrived he stated the repair was not covered. Confirmed with Sears that warranty service does not go into effect until 30 days after. Initial representative was either misinformed or deceptive. Cancelled warranty and got refund. Avoid this trap!
