  Took 3 weeks to get an appointment to repair my 4 year old Kenmore Elite refrigerator. Was told there would be a $169 fee. On the day of the appointment the technician did not show up in the 4 hour window. They said we missed are appointment (no they missed the appointment). My wife called a few days later and told them what happened. They said they could get a technician here the next day and that they would call or text the time they would be here. No call or text. Called that day and tried to reschedule "next appointment was 2 weeks out". Booked it. Hope they show up for this one. I would like to have a working refrigerator again. Started looking in to a few things. According to Kenmore the manufacturing warranty is still good and the repair is free. Why am I being charged a fee for a free repair and why is it so hard to get a service technician to show up on time? From the looks of the reviews this has been happening a lot.

  While the repair was done very well, a wait of 8 weeks, including being stood up on 4 appointments by Sears repair, is completely unacceptable. It seemed that on every call the Sears representative was more interested in selling Sears home services that they were in getting our failed refrigerator repaired. Sears excellent reputation is long gone and they are no longer a company to do business with.

  The technician was wonderfully responsive and explained everything carefully. I really appreciate his forthrightness and ability to explain the problem for me.
