  My dissatisfaction from Rheem/Rudd HVAC stems from the following: I bought a new construction house from a spec builder through a real estate agent in 2014 which had a Rheem Heat Pump/Air Handler in it with a manufacturing date of 2013. I assumed the installer registered the unit for warranty, which would have given me a ten year warranty instead of just a 5 year without registration. There were no stickers on the unit from the installer. My blower motor failed in the air handler last week and with a call to Rheem, I was told they wouldn't honor the warranty based on the Manufacturers date alone, even though I wouldn't have been able to register it as Rheem/Rudd requires the installer's name for registration. SO LONG STORY SHORT FOLKS: Buy from a company that honors your loyalty to the brand and backs their brand better. So which brand honors their warranty TO THE FULLEST based on the manufacturers date alone? That would be CARRIER. I take it that Carrier understands that the registration process can have its glitches but is more confident of its products and more reassuring to its customers than Rheem/Rudd is. I will add to this list as time goes on.

  After paying4300 for a Rheem RQPM-A037JK000AUA on 1/29/2018 Both motors have been replaced as of 6/17/2021 I have spent 235.00 in labor costs. It is very obvious this unit is totally defective , and the only people who are making money on this deal is Comfort Service. I would never recommend your company. A totally disgusted customer.

  Would recommend another brand. Air handler lasted only 6 years before evaporator coils and ECM motor failed on the unit. Modest residential use and fully maintained system. Unit failed completely 1 year out of warranty which required a total replace ($4,000 cost). Reached out to Rheem (Lisa in Customer Service) who offered to cover none of the cost, offer a rebate, or assist in any way for a product that should not need a total replacement in 6 years. We didn't ask for coverage of the total cost, just some help and they said no. Sad.
