Where do I start..? Two weeks ago my heating pump was running continuously, and wouldn’t turn off unless I turned off the main breaker. I called precision and they sent out a tech to check out the system. The tech was nice and polite and did get the unit working by rearranging the wires and using one of the good wires for heat. The charge for diagnosing was $380. The tech stated that the wire needed to be replaced from the thermostat to the unit. This is approximately a 25 foot run. The next day they called with a quote of $580 to replace 25 feet of wire. When I questioned the cost it was explained that parts are really expensive. “I found a 50 foot roll at lowes for $30” this brought the total cost for replacing the wire and diagnosing to $960. After replacing the wire the tech informed me that the blower motor and relay also needed to be replaced. He said the office would call me the next day to quote me a price. The next day the office called with a quote of $1,350 to replace the blower and relay. I said that seems a bit high can you give me a break down of parts and labor. The receptionist told me “we can’t do that we just quote flat rates” I went online and priced the blower motor part number 902993 $349 including the capacitor and all wiring / housing. “New” I priced the relay 9400-13Q152 “23.99 “new” google those part numbers if you’d like to see for yourself. Moral of the story they wanted to charge me $1,000 labor for what took me 30 minutes to fix. I replaced the relay myself and the system works fine. We also tested the motor and it’s at .4 ohms, and working perfectly without replacing it unnecessarily. Total cost: $23.99!!!! There is a difference in making a reasonable profit, and price gouging/taking advantage of people. Learned my lesson!

Precision was great at first. They were always responsive and quickly replaced the air handler and condenser of my heat pump. The air conditioner initially worked very well and had no issues. They continued to tell me that the heat would not work and the thermostat needed to be reprogramed to get the heat to work to "energize the B terminal." Precision came out, took a look, and then wanted me to have my home automation company come out to reprogram the thermostat. So I spent another $50 for a service call to get this done and it STILL didn't work after a reprogram. I called Precision to tell them it isn't working and rather than offering to come out to check their OWN work they tell me I need a new thermostat (for another $150) and offer to install it (for a fee of course). So I buy a new thermostat and decided to try it myself first and followed the directions EXACTLY. Ended up having the same problem as with the initial thermostat. I call Precision again to notify them of the issue and they want another $139 dollars for a service fee call on TOP of the $6,600 I just spent on a new install. I decided to go through my home warranty company which was cheaper only to find the the WIRING was the issue from the initial install, NOT the thermostat. This company made ZERO attempt to remedy the situation and wanted more money first before checking their own work. I am thoroughly disappointed and will be brining my business elsewhere.

My AC stopped working and I called Precision. They sent Larry out first thing in the morning. He arrived on time, quickly identified the problem and explained it to us. Larry is great - low key, courteous, experienced and credible. Very helpful with advice and options - no hype or hard sell. Just the facts. The fix was done and reasonably priced. Precision’s responsiveness and dispatch process is first class. I will definitely use them again!
