We have been satisfied customers of PETRO (in Maryland)!for nearly 30 years. I can’t tell you the number of times that they have helped us through difficult situations. Always with the BEST customer service around. Great communication skills, super friendly & professional. Feels like they really care about us & our family & appreciate our business. From help with budgeting, oil deliveries, furnace issues, running out of oil (our fault!), excellent skilled & professional technicians -always prompt & reliable. And availability 24/7 we feel we are in the best hands for all of our home heating & air conditioning needs. Special shout out to Megan who is based in the Essex Maryland office for quickly helping us with an unplanned need for a heat/oil delivery & billing issue. She is a perfect example of PETRO going above & beyond to take the best care of their customers! There has never been one time when I have called that they have not thanked me for being a long time loyal customer and letting me know how much they appreciate us!

The worst gas company I have EVER witness someone do business with. We thought we ran low on propane, so we called Petro out to refill on Friday, Nov 5. The worker comes out and notifies us that the propane isn’t low enough to refill, but that there seems to be an issue with a valve on the furnace. He assured us that the valve would have to be ordered for Monday, therefore we would have to be without heat all weekend. Today, Monday 11/8, rolls around and a worker visits our home to replace the valve while we are away at work. I come home to discover an awful, very potent gas smell throughout the entire house - so bad, it made my eyes water. My boyfriend, myself, & my dog evacuated the home immediately; we notified my boyfriends mother, who owns the home, and she called Petro. For a company that states “24/7 customer service”, they sure do a damn good job at not answering the phone. We waited & no response, so the only thing left to do was call the fire department. Fire department showed up, detected “high scents” of propane gas leaking directly from the furnace; the fire department spent an hour airing out our entire house. My boyfriend’s mother called Petro around 6:00pm & the company stated they would have dispatch call us in 15-20 minutes. It is now 7:45pm & Petro never called; my boyfriend’s mother ended up calling Petro’s customer service AGAIN just to discover they put us on the list for TOMORROW between 5 to 9 PM. I have never seen a company have such a lack of empathy for individuals who could of potentially been severely injured and/or sick from a gas leak created by THEIR EMPLOYEE. Please refrain doing any business with this company - I am truly disgusted in their actions. This company doesn’t even deserve one star.

We have been a Petro customer for 14 years and have an annual maintenace contract at current $493.00 We have sold our home and are down sizing to Nevada. I asked Petro to sell us 100 gallons for heating oil. They refused saying their minimum is 150 gallons at $5.99.9 (call it $6.00 because that is what it is) plus taxes of course. I asked to speak with a supervisor. That worked...sort of. I ended up having to buy 100 gallons at $5.99.9...so $600.00 plus taxes. However they will take a reading just before we move so we will get the value of the remaining oil added to our payout. No charge for the move out reading...I guess?
