  Petro didn't estimate when I would be needing my oil tank filled. So I ran out of oil and needed oil as soon as possible as I have a 1 year old and a woman that is pregnant in my upstairs unit. I had literally spoke with Petro Services 2 or 3 days before this happened and they never mentioned I was on a variable rate or gave me an estimate on what rate per gallon would be. So to my surprise I was stamped with a bill that was over $1,000 coming to $4.33 per gallon. My pay has not increased and as of January I am without a job. I do not even know how I will afford to pay for this. I was estimating the cost to be around $500-$600, NOT almost double. I will be canceling my account with Petro. I do understand the cost for everything has gone up, but I will not be bamboozled again paying over $4 when other places are offering oil at $3. This is absolutely unacceptable and inconsiderate. Highly recommend researching other companies versus taking advantage of Petro's "convenience services" that they claim given the 2 years+ experience I've already undergone with them. This wasn't the only issue, I've had with them, but it's certainly the final issue that broke the camel's back.

  After Ida we had a new heating system. Due to a nozzle problem it filled up with soot. Petro Service came out and vacuumed out all the soot and installed a new nozzle. Petro Installation came out and checked our system, showed us how to detect a malfunction in the future, and provided reassurance that it should never happen again. Very gratifying experience. We have had a Petro service contract for over 20 years. Usually only annual service needed, but prompt 24/7 responses to "no heat" calls.

  A bit pricier for fuel oil delivery but exceptionally good on the service side, which I believe is so important. Technicians are prompt to address issues and are very qualified.
