Dennis is extremely competent. His employees are not. We had 5 A/C units in our house which Perry maintained with an annual contract. Dennis sent us incompetent employees. We called to report a ceiling A/C unit was dripping water out of an auxiliary drain line on the back of our house. The guy he sent disconnected the main drain line and reglued one joint. He positioned the drain line just outside of the drain pan. He commented that he didn't have the correct equipment to unclog the drain line. Within a couple days, it became obvious the line was clogged as water started dripping from the drain line joint next to the glued one (just missing the drain pan) into the ceiling, totally ruining it. Lots of water. The guy he sent this time said he couldn't tell where the water was coming from but it definitely was not the A/C unit. (?) I called Dennis and he immediately came over and diagnosed the problem but was unwilling to offer any compensation. They didn't even come back to fulfill the remainder of the annual maintenance I was due. My damages were over $6000. You are only as good as your worst employee(s) and these are bad.

I had a bad experience with Perry's Refrigeration and they came as a referral. The technician took 1 hour and 45 minutes to diagnose a bad motor. Perry's quote to repair was $1300 and the service call fee was $175 (I questioned this, the technician said I was paying for his time). He also tried to charge a $20 trip charge. I had another company come out to diagnose the problem, same day, I didn't tell them anything about what Perry's said, and they came to the same conclusion about the motor in less than 15 minutes and the service call charge was $85. Ultimately I was able to get the motor replaced for $625 less than Perry's quote. Unfortunately the part was not in warranty, this is what I was told and I confirmed when I looked up the manufacturer's warranty policy (not transferrable). I called Perry's to give them the feedback about the experience and spoke with Dennis. He was so unprofessional, wouldn't listen and kept interrupting me?!? He said their service call fee is normally $150. I wasn't asking Dennis for anything, just providing feedback about my experience. He was very defensive. I had several HVAC companies quote the repair for me after I knew what the problem was, Perry's was by far the most, over $300 more than the average. Service call fees ranged from $75-$85. The irony is I may not have even questioned their estimate if I felt their technician knew what he was doing when he was here and had not taken so long. Bickley's in Chapin did the repair, they were another referral. They don't do any advertising, all word of mouth. Family owned. The owner did the repair himself, salt of the earth type of person. But Dennis's response and lack of professionalism to my experience ensures that I could never recommend this company to anyone.
Response from the owner
Mrs. Henry was a pleasure to work with. We were dispatched out on a no cooling call and upon arrival we discovered there was an airflow issue with her unit. Upon investigating we also surveyed the entire system including indoor coil, Outdoor coil, Duct work and air filters. As the technician was doing his investigation I Dennis Perry was in the office investigating the warranty of her unit. Our determination was that the indoor blower motor needed replaced and most likely the failure was due to the poor installation. Also we were informed that the HVAC company who installed her system did not follow up with her registration of a/c unit and therefore the very expensive blower motor was not covered under warranty. This was explained in detail to Mrs. Henry. At that time, she informed us, that she could not afford the repairs to the HVAC unit. As always, we give estimates before work is preformed. Her invoice was discounted for the evaluation and diagnoses. We wish Mrs. Henry the best with her repairs to her HVAC unit. But as it shows in this case installation and repairs, Using the lowest price is not always the best price. Thank You, Perry's Refrigeration Service, LLC

Perry's installed my HVAC 5 years ag because my previous HVAC was more than 20 years old, they needed to reconfigure and reinstall some ductwork. This involved going through the downstairs into the crawl space. One employee came out to design the system, and others came out to build the ductwork. All of them were professional, courteous, punctual, kept the place clean, and the system works great. A couple of years ago, we smelled something that smelled like natural gas. Mr. Perry himself got on the phone with us. He was alarmed and sent someone out immediately to our house to check it out, in the middle of the night.
